Dislikes
- Girls to boys ratio: The gender ratio is skewed, roughly around 1:4 or 1:5.
- Pilani Location: The remote location is bit of a downside. It's far from major cities which can be inconvenient for travel or industry exposure. However, it creates a tight-knit community and lesser distractions.
- Mess Food: It's manageable, but nothing to write home about. Most students prefer food from campus canteens and eateries.

Admission
I chose BITS Pilani over other colleges due to its academic flexibilitym vibrant culture, zero reservation and merit based admission process. I had confirmed admissions from other colleges such as DTU but I opted for BITS primarily because of it Practice School program and the autonomy it offers in shaping your academic journey. The admission process is through the BITSAT exam, an online test includes Physics, Chemistry and Maths and English and Logical Reasoning. There is no reservation policy. The cutoff for top branches is usually 340+. The entire process is smooth and conducted online.
Faculty
The faculty at BITS Pilani (Pilani Campus) is well qualified, with all holding PhDs from reputed institutes from India and abroad. The faculty to student ration is reasonable and due to relatively smaller batches, professors are approachable. For all the courses, there is a mid semester exam and a comprehensive exam which has the most weighatge. Apart from these, there can be surprise/announced quizzes or assignments depending on the course and the professor. Grading is relative, and it's rare for many students to fail.
