Course Curriculum Overview

4

My course curriculum involves subjects like banking essentials, banking services and e banking and also the aspects of crypto currency and stock markets that help me build my knowledge in finance and maintaining my finances and also know where to invest them and how to do it precisely. My curriculum actually is very real world applicable as it contains all practical information. The areas of improvement might be the inaccuracy of stating exactly how to apply these information in the real world because it becomes useless if not known. The teaching methods are always very good. The timing of exams are 2 hours and I think is enough to crack the paper and complete it

Internships Opportunities

3

The company amazon offers a bcom graduate of 3LPA and after an experience of 3 years the candidate gets promotion in terms of his performance. The company also offers free beverages and bonuses to encourage employees working with them.

Placement Experience

4

After semester 4 and during semester 5 students become eligible to apply for placement opportunities in the campus. The companies that visit are deloitte, golman sachs, amazon and many other companies and there are many offers made regarding each course of the student and their skills. The highest package offered was 6LPA to a computer science student by goldman sachs as the student was excellent in communicating, leadership and had all the basic skills to stand out from the crowd. Percentage of students getting placement are 96. My plans after getting my degree is to work for 3 to 4 years in a MNC and apply for MBA in a reputed institute.

Fees and Financial Aid

The overall fee comes to 135000 for B.com with IB (Investment Banking) integrated with CFA and this is for the first year and for the next two years the fee remains the same. Whereas for the Management quota there is an extra fee of 75k for my course and it differs on each course. The fees for my batch mates who have opted for B.com professional is 113000 and differs each year whereas for just B.com it is 85600. I have no idea about the scholarships offered but I have heard that the scholarships given are maximum upto 20k and not more.

Campus Life

5

To be inside MCC campus is a delight because there is a different kind of peace and harmony inside this college and I experience it all the time whether morning or evening. The cultural fest called Cuh-lah is organized every year and it is a one week long fest that is inter collegiate that encourages students to participate and many colleges come in our campus to explore their talents. This fest is usually conducted around the month of October to November. The library is huge and has availability of everg academic books and also fictional and non fictional books. My classroom has a monitor for presentations and also has computer labs and encourages students to carry laptop for their daily needs. Everything from sports to dance to quiz we have got it all, but to get into one of these clubs you need to clear an audition that will be conducted by the clubs VPs.

Admission

I applied to St. Joseph College of Commerce and Sheshadripuram college of commerce. From these I got a confirmation from Sheshadripuram college as I was meeting their cutoff needs. Whereas in SJCC I didn't get a confirmation and I got rehected dur to my 1st puc marks as they were quite low and the cutoff percentage there was high. So I dropped the plan and chose MCC as this is oke of the top commerce college in Bengaluru and also one of my favorites due to their famous college fests and their faculty. I chose this over others because this was quite near to my location and was convenient and also it had a good reputation than the other colleges. The admission process here is simple, first I had to fill in the online application form and there were walk-in admissions and after that I visited my college showed them my application and my eligibility was met and after that I was guided to the counter of verifying documents and at last the fee payment counter and finally after paying 50 percent of my fee amount my seat was booked and I got in. I thought the admission process was a bit lengthy but overall a good experience.

Faculty

5

Every faculty is really very humble and always provides everything that you need. Whenever you have a doubt in your class lectures or you want to talk about it further my teachers are always available and are really patient with it. I really like my commerce faculty because they have been acting as my bridge to guidance and achieving good grades in my academics. The one faculty I don't like is the sports department as they are always unsure of what's happening and don't encourage students to participate in sports that much. There are totally two exams at the end of each semester and the difficulty is quite moderate in terms of questions and relevancy. Around 5% students fail to clear the exams.

Night Life

4

There is only one week of jught life that happens in my college when there is fest going on and that is really happening and it probably gets wind up at 8pm and we all reach safely and satisfied. Famous hangout spots inside campus would be basketball court which is the most convenient place to escape your boring lectures and outside would be loafers lane which has this cafe called deserted people come here to play games and also have some great food as well. The locality is absolutely safe to roam around and as it was only a girls college safety was and is the priority.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
