What Students Say
Likes
- Professors are knowledgable and approachable and are ready to help whenever possible.
- Classes are provided for both soft skills and technical skills which would help preparing for future interviews.
Dislikes
- The heavy focus on projects and competitions is enriching but can be challenging to balance with academic commitments.
- The timetable is quite packed, leaving little room for free classes or flexible time to explore personal interests or relaxation.
- There's a lack of informal spaces for spontaneous conversations, which can make it harder to build connections outside of structured activites.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is filled with theory but also said theoretical knowledge can be applied with problem solving. The exams are held twice a semester - a midterm held in the middle of the semester and an endterm final at the end. The difficulty level is moderate.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies that visit include but are not limited to - IBM, Samatrix, Decathlon, Wipro, Xebia, etc. The highest placement package was 56 LPA and the average offers are around 15 LPA. About 80% students get placed. My plan after the degree is to use my knowledge to solve real world issues.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees was initially 110000 per semester in the first year but was then changed to 115000 in the second year. I'm not sure exactly about the additional fees but initially there was about 20,000 security deposit. I believe for Computer Science core, the fees is 100000. Other than that the bus fees was 22000 in the first year and 24000 in the second year. I personally got scholarship based off my CUET scores but I've heard scholarships are also awarded based on JEE percentile and 12th percentage.
Campus Life
The college holds multiple festivals throughout the year. The technical festivals held differ with different departments. My department, SOET, holds an annual hackathon called HACKKRMU which lasts for about 3 days. there are cultural festivals like cultural events for diwali and then there is the fresher's to welcome new students around November-October. The books and journals available in the library are of every type and kind. The classrooms are equipped with smartboards and projectors to facilitate the process of teaching and make it much more interactive.
Admission
I applied to a lot of different colleges throughout India and got accepted into most of them. The reason that I chose this college was because this is comparatively closer to my home. The admission process of my college includes an online test followed by a personal interview. If a student passes these two, then of course they are eligible but along with these 12th percentage, JEE percentile and CUET scores is also required. The overall admission process was smooth and a good learning experience.
Faculty
The faculties are super helpful and nice and always ready to help out whenever possible. They are approachable and can help with general guidance or even career or academic guidance. Personally, I really like Ms. Radhika Gupta, she has taught me for 2 semesters and is proficient in Java and DBMS. She's very sweet and her teaching style is relaxed but makes it easy to explain the content to us. Exams are held twice a semester - a midterm and an endterm final. The difficulty of the exam is moderate.
Night Life
I am personally a day-scholar so I haven't gotten the chance to properly experience the nightlight in the college campus. The only time I did experience something close to it was during our annual hackathon called HACKKRMU where I had to stay in the college campus for 3 days straight. The college in the evening is generally super calm and peaceful.
