Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose B.Tech in Computer Science at GIET University because of its structured curriculum, good faculty, and placement opportunities. The program covers fundamental computer science concepts, programming, databases, networking, and AI/ML basics, making it a solid foundation for a tech careers. Some advanced topics like AI,ML And Cybersecurity are also taught but not deeply explored.

Internships Opportunities

5

College provide Summer internship to the college students in Summer vacation. Whereas other students can apply for off campus internship. The main concern for college faculty is they need certificate for credit in semester result. Projects are given to students from 2nd year such as minor projects and in 3rd year you have to do Major project according to the topic you have choosen.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for campus placement from 6th semester (3rd year). Some companies allow internships in the 3rd year, which may convert into full-time offers. Companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, Wipro visited to the campus, and select a decent amount of students. The average package for placement is between 3-4 LPA. Though the college promise to give 100% placements but it is generally 80-90 % percent which is quite good .

Fees and Financial Aid

The overall tuition fees including hostel fees and semester fees yearly is 1,60,000 . The admission fees is 10,000 for seat reservation on the particular branch you wanted to study. The fees increase slightly every year due to inflation and facility improvements. However, the university ensures that students get access to quality education and modern infrastructure. Basically hostel fees increase yearly. The fees of cse students are generally high that any other branch . For a particular branch fees remain same for 4 years except hostel fees . While for new batches every year fee increase.

Campus Life

5

Campus Life in giet university is engaging and good . The college organized less number of fests . But the main fest is annual cultural fest occur in February . And there is also department fest which is happened according to respective departments. The college also celebrate women's day which is nice and full of inspiration. There are few clubs as per i know some are cybersecurity club , gdcs club , code communicator club , mmc clubs and much more . There clubs are very beneficial and helpful for students some clubs provide goodies to students for there performance.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel faculties are also most same in girls hostel but some differ from hostel to hostel . As a girl candidate , if you are going to college you have to sign in the register before going and after coming again you have you sign . And there is outing for girls students in Sunday in the morning for 2 hours only . Some hostel have 4 bed in a room and some hostel provide 2 beds in one room and some hostel provide single room also . Hostel menu changes monthly. The quality of food is ok not so good . No pg is provided for rent.

Admission

Other colleges have high fee structure and high cutoff. But GIET University have affordable fees structure and average cutoff. The university provide decent placement package to students of each branch . The campus is well equipped with labs , libarary, the central library opens 24 hours for students specially for boys and for girls it is till 9:00 pm . One must have appear jee mains for btech admissions and 12 th percentage much 60 % above. Overall this college is good and in reasonable cost it provides knowledge.

Faculty

5

Faculty members are very cooperative and friendly. They provide necessary details about the subjects and also give outside knowledge such as about internship, workshop, and othere activities. The exam systems are quite good . In every semester there must be 2 mid term exam which is of 30 marks each . And it's compulsory to score 24 in the mid terms out of 60 (adding both mid terms marks) . The pattern are very simple . Marking system by faculty is good . Semester question are kind of though but one can easily crack it by reading from notes .

Night Life

3

To be honest the nightlife is only enjoyed by male students. They can go around the campus at any time but the girls are allowed to go around the campus till 6 , after that if any girl is there without work then they have to sit in the library till 8 then there will be bus for girls students to go to there respective hostels. And in every Saturday the college organized a movie for girls students to watch and in Sunday for boys . Gym facilities are provided to boys .

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are generally good and improving, especially for students who stay consistent with coding, projects, and internships. In my college, students usually become eligible for campus placements from around the 7th semester (4th year), while many students start getting internship opportunities and pre-placement offers from the 5th–6th semester itself depending on skills. Every year, companies from the software and IT domain visit the campus for roles like Software Developer / SDE, QA, Analyst, Web Developer, and sometimes Data-related roles, and students also get offers through off-campus applications. Some of the common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, along with product/startup opportunities depending on the year, and multiple students receive more than one offer as well. The highest package and average package vary every year and depend a lot on branch, performance, and market conditions, but overall the college provides decent placement support and training sessions like aptitude, DSA guidance, and interview preparation. The placement percentage is also fairly good for students who actively participate in the placement process, while the rest generally go for higher studies or off-campus roles. After completing my degree, my plan is to either secure a good software developer role through campus/off-campus and build experience, or if I feel more interested academically, I may prepare for higher studies or competitive exams along with improving my skills.

Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
