Course Curriculum Overview

4

Well I chose Bcom Hons from AMU because they follow the curriculum of ICAI and NEP 2020 as well as Four-Year Undergraduate Program. Each year syllabus is modified as per changes. The curriculum helps students with certain hands-on skills and real world applications and practice. One thing which is to be improved is including smart digital screen. There are weekly tests and semesters. Exams are pretty easy.

Internships Opportunities

5

I don't know much about it because I am in the first year. I know that I should not be writing review at this stage but I want to change the opinion of people about AMU being Hinduphobic which is not at all true. I am a Hindu and a proud Aligarh. I love AMU

Placement Experience

5

Yes, it offers a campus placement. So the placement starts from third year. .Some companies visited here are Publicis Sapient, Forbes Marshall, Ramboll India.,Adobe, HDFC, IBM, ICICI Bank etc. The highest package is around 20laks per annum. 90% students get placed. I want to go for PhD.

Fees and Financial Aid

I started my graduation in AMU from August 2024 and the admission fee was ?10,880 with the entrance exam. All the tution fee, development fee, lab fee etc was included in this only. So the scholarship for students are Zuberi Welfare Society Scholarship, UP Scholarship test and other course specific scholarship test providing financial aid upto 9000. My friends who are from Non-residents Of India quota they generally had to pay fees around 1,72,000. Sports quota students generally have around 10000 only. The amount of admission fee has been almost same but the scholarship amount has increased.

Campus Life

5

Most fests happen in February from college fests to Aligarh Exhibition. In October it's Sir Syed Day Celebration. Also every week many seminars and workshops are organised. The Maulana Azad Library, one of the biggest biggest libraries of the world is located here housing several books and research papers. Classrooms have a screen to teach. All sports one can imagine are played here. Yes it has it's own student union and clubs like drama clubs, short evening courses club, commerce club, museum, horse riding club, athletic ground, fine arts club, hindustani music club, fusion music club, western music club etc.

Hostel Facilities

5

So there are many hostels. Some of them are MM Hall, Abdullah Hall, VM Hall, SN Hall, SJ Hall, BAN Hall, IG Hall, RM Hall, Bibi Fathima Hall etc. But the most beautiful girls hostel is Begum Azizun Nisa Hostel followed by Indira Gandhi Hall. Rooms are quite spacious but Abdullah Hall can be little bit problematic because of space problems. Food is quite good and healthy but not in every hostel. Finally I can't say anything about boys' hostel as I have never talked to a guy.

Admission

I applied to Delhi University alongside Aligarh Muslim University. I got Venkateshwar college. But I chose to stay in this college because my curriculum had already started in August and CUET results were released late. Moreover Venkateshwar is far away from my location whereas it's quite easy almost 2 hours. Also, my father has studied from here so it's a kind of memory. Well I never got any rejection from any college. I got selected in first list only. To get admission here you need to clear their entrance exam for bcom, bba and ba in agriculture, language courses, all pg courses. The admission is based on the first list and then waiting list if seats left. For Bcom Hons, internal students need to score 45 whereas externals have to score around 55. The eligibility criteria is commerce background and above 60% in class 12.

Faculty

4

So the faculty is very nice and non-biased. You will never feel strange or outcasted. Your religion is highly valued. Every subject has different teacher so faculty-student ratio is very good. You can contact them at any time and they are always ready to help. Thr best faculties I will say are from Arts Section because they are less strict and more playful. I don't hate but also don't like commerce faculties because they are highly strict and disciplined focusing on morals. There are semester exams ie two semesters in one year. Exam level is moderate.

Night Life

3

Here one can find everything but girls are not allowed for night stay. So as a girl I can't tell anything. Still boys hangout a lot. They are mostly found at Chungi gate. So the timings of hostel for girls is 6:30 pm and for boys it's same too but boys still hangout without any care.

Placement in my college is not very good for bcom. They provide decent placement to some brilliant students who are good in academics. The average placement for my course is nearly 3lpa. There are many companies who visits the campus and provides campus placement too. Sales is the widest scope for placement opportunities
