Remarks

All in all its a very good Medical College. The faculties are quite an experts in their own fields and their own way. The environment will not only prepare you to be a good Clinician but also prepare you for the challenges of Life, because the 5.5 yrs will itself comprise of many challenges at RGMC.All departments are good, esp. Biochem,Pharmac,PSM,ENT,Medicine,& Surgery departments are my personal favourites.Internship is quite heavy but enjoyable.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

4.5 yrs course with 1 yr Internship. The curriculum comprises of Preclinical,Paraclinical,& Core Clinical subjects.Anatomy,Physiology & Biochemistry are preclinical subs of 1st yr.Then come Pharmacology,Microbiology,Pathology,& Forensics in 2nd year. PSM,ENT & Ophthal comprise your 3rd year while Medicine,Surgery,OBGY & Pediatrics in final year of MBBS.You have both theory and practical exam in each semester(College exams) which make your Internal marks. And a final University exam again both theory and pracs.

Placement Experience

5

Yes.It provides.Internship ere being a Govt./Municipal Hospital,is rigorous but gives all the hands on experience that you require as a Clinician, even for Residency ahead. If you have done your internship here, you can handle every clinical affair as an MBBS Doctor anywhere, anytime.Stipend is around 6K for all interns pan state.

College Events

5

ABHIYAAN is Annual College Fest encomapssing not only academics & CMEs,but also cultural, sports, entertainment and other co-curricular activities.Apart from these there are time to time other Special events going around all the year as per the discretion of Student Committee, including both social and national awareness, social work,Health awareness.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very much Feasible.Being a Govt. seat in here, fees is very much affordable.Further, once you are done with your academic session year, there are multiple options by which you can even get your fees back if you have reasonable merit.Narottam,JRD Tata scholarship, and the State Run Govt. Scholarship programmes enable you to get these.

Fees and Financial Aid

As I said before, once you are done with your academic session year, there are multiple options by which you can even get your fees back if you have reasonable merit.Narottam,JRD Tata scholarship, and the State Run Govt. Scholarship programmes enable you to get these.I had availed JRD Tata Scholarship twice in my MBBS career, and got my entire tuition fees refunded both the times.

Campus Life

4.5

You can get plenty of extracurricular and sport activities here. The Common room has all provisions for indoor games like Table tennis,Chess,& carrom. There special ground/court for Volley Ball, basket Ball,& Badminton.Labs are fully equipped with all required good quality instruments, microscopes, specimens,& records.

Alumni/Alumna

Ofcourse.Alumni & Seniors are the lifelines of any Medical College. They are the ones who guide you esp. in first year as most of the freshers hardly know how to go about. However,it is advisable, not to depend too much on any senior, and its quite easy for you to judge which senior is good and reliable.Hostelites have no option but to bear with it that youll come across many whom you wont like. Raggong is strictly prohibited and you can turn to College Antiragging committee even at slightest of any gesture of that sort.

Admission

State Medical Entrance exam held in 2010.You need to be in top ranks to secure admission in Mumbai region medical colleges.Once you get a good rank, you need to fill a preference form which is now online.Post that you get an allottment.Nowadays, the admissions happen through NEET UG Entrance exam.Rest process for state is nearly same.

Faculty

5

The Best faculty you can ever get. Each professor remembers you personally.Biochem,Pharmac,Patho,Micro,FMT,PSM,ENT,Med,Surg, have some of the best professors who are very student friendly.Dr. Karthikeyan sir,Vice Dean & HOD PSM is everyones saviour and a living Encyclopedia for everything under RGMC.They provide ample opportunities not just in classrooms but for intercollegiate activities & Research too.
