Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course is standard for all MBBS courses. There are theory lectures and practical classes. Hospital exposure begins in the second year onwards. Current revisions in the course like introduction of logbook etc are unnecessary and time consuming.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship is compulsory in the college. After that, once you get permanent registration number, you can apply for medical officer ship in various departments in the hospital. Preference is given to graduates of the college

Fees and Financial Aid

For general category, tuition fees are about 1lakh per year, gymkhana fees about 500rs and hostel about 5000 rs. Fees for reservation students is between 30000 and 50000 General category students receive scholarships based on income

Campus Life

2

There are annual cultural, sports and academic fests, which are organised very well with adequate funds. Usually held mid year The library is well stocked with academic books and there is a large reading room as well. Technological provisions are poor and there is only one classroom with a whiteboard Clubs and student life is barely present due to small campus

Admission

The admission procedure is via the NEET merit list based on rank and marks. I chose this college because I wanted to remain in Mumbai and the missed the other colleges by a few marks. Compared to other colleges, my college has a smaller batch size, which allows better patient exposure and individual learning. But the current college administration is unnecessarily strict, not being helpful for things like college fests and co and extra curricular activities. Not enough emphasis is placed on research compared to other colleges

Faculty

3

Faculty to student ratio is good since batch size is 80-100. Like all colleges, some faculty are good and some are not. In first year, the biochemistry department and Dr Mohit sir is very supportive for research. In second year, pathology department is very supportive for learning and exams. Microbiology department especially Dr Ubale sir is very good for pursuing research. In third year ophthalmology department is very thorough and good with teaching especially Dr Barot sir who is the Dean. In final year Medicine department is very supportive for learning and research, especially Dr Prasita Ma’am and Dr Deepa Ma’am . Pediatrics department especially Dr Junagade sir is very good for learning clinics. Exams are semester exams and final university exams. Semester exams are easy and we are given chances to clear the exam if we fail. University exams are set by the state university. If we fail, we give the supplementary exams. If we fail to clear that, we are held back for a year

Night Life

3

The campus is near Thane city, 15 minutes away from Viviana mall. There are several cafés, shopping areas, etc nearby Hostel timing is about 10pm in time There are many gardens nearby as well. The locality is perfectly safe at night
