Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is logical based and has real world application but only a few days are given towards practical knowledge and skills. I choose law as a career due to my family background. The course needs more time for internship because 1 month is not enough for real world application.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are internship opportunities given for month of july from 2nd year onwards although students can look for internship from 1st year itself. Several litigants and even small firms provide internship

Placement Experience

1

The college barely has placements, dont listen to teachers boasting about placement during your generic college visit, even the students of placement committee do not get placed so how will a general candidate will be. Its better if you seek off campus placement in a firm or start litigation.

Fees and Financial Aid

So the total fees without hostel expenses will be around ?5,20,000. An amount of ?10,000 has to be paid as security deposit that can be cashed out after the completion of degree. Due to my course i do pay any lab fees or development fees, although if a student is debarred from mid sem exams they need to pay ?300 per subject fot reappear examination later in the semester. There are no financial aids or scholarships that the Institute gives. Coming back to annual fees, youll be paying around 1,00,000 every year and around 3rd year it'll be 90,000 to 95,000. The college also provides bus service which is around 35000 annual fees. And before such a student taking admission through GGSIPU portal needs to pay around ?50000 for fixing their seat in the college, the amount of 50k will be adjusted in the fees for 1st year if u take admission in that particular college.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is happening, each day something new is going on so many events every semester and u meet mant new people hence social life is never on hault. Soon a bike riding group of jims students will start. There are 2 massive libraries with every kind of book available, 1 is law library which is seperate and then there is general library for all other courses

Admission

After clearing clat exam i got my rank AIR 3000 but i was not financially strong enough to go to NLU so i had to go with GGSIPU colleges. After college counselling round of IPU i got my current college and gitarattan institute of business studies. I chose my college because GIBS was asking for 1lakh in donations before admission, which i couldn't do although im happy with my decision. My college has students ranging from AIR3000 to AIR 30,000. So there is no clat criteria.

Faculty

3

Lets talk about marking schemes, the marking for internals is done strictly and assignment marks are given harshly too. The mid sem exams are not too difficult and so is for the external end sem exams they are just longer exam but not extremely difficult. The faculty student relationship is giffy, just like any college teachers like to grant marks to their fav students and be biased for others. Although not every professor does this only a handful. Therr is no such faculty that i dont like or have animosity with but i mist t say thr HOD has no manners on how to talk to parents oreven students who are looking for guidancee. I have a good relationship with my faculty and they are helpful to me but i need to be careful about what i need help with

Interview Experience

1

There was no interview or GD although i prepared for CLAT examination from online classes and LA/LR book from pearson. You can crack clat easily without any difficulties or too much competition. Nothing to say otherwise

Night Life

1

No night life, bhai greater noida me college hai, andhere ke baad bahar mat ao . The area around college is just farms and other colleges there are no clubs and good restraunts are 3 km away. So if youre planning to bunk, then dont come to college.

Placements for law school are very very low indeed and out of total 180 students not more than 20-30 even get placed. Seminars and top brass are invited to guide students how can they take their career forward but not many direct placements happen.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well structured and is divided across 10 semesters so that the students don't get overburdened. The three year llb gets hectic. That's why i chose this course. The curriculum includes moot courts and drafting which is very helpful for further pursuits in law. The mandatory presentation in each semester builds confidence. However, I'd suggest preparing students for moot courts by focussing more on the moot court society will further sharpen the eloquence of the students. The exams are conducted twice in a semester and are moderately difficult.

Not many as placements are less and just a handful like from a batch of 180 in all, 30-40 students are placed from campus. Mostly it's the two tier law firms that comes and offer us quite less as well.

Placements are not many and to be realistic only 25% students or so get jobs from here. It is quite less indeed but that is how it is and some corporate houses who have branding issues are the ones that hire some students from here. Most students try to find joh outside only.

Students from third year have started getting Pre-Placement Offers, but many of those are majorly due to their own accomplishments. Students get ample amount of time to intern at various law firms and courts, to secure a PPO on their own. In addition to this, the Internship and Placement Committee, often comes in aid to secure PPOs for the students of the graduating batch.
