Course Curriculum Overview

4

The specific aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course are my fascinating towards the work engineers does and I also wanted to explore many new things. The curriculum really makes me confident and encourages me to move forward towards achieveing success. It would be very nice if Kamal sir focuses more on teaching than on spending time in discussing useless topics. The frequency and timings of the sessional exams is 1 hour and for end semester, its for 3 hours. The difficulty level is medium and is really good. Question papers are fun to solve.

Internships Opportunities

4

There is a Summer Internship Programm offered by our college for both undergraduate and post graduate students. It includes the projects: Internship Programme On Circuit Design Simulation And PCB Fabrication, Internship Programme On Circuit Design Simulation And PCB Fabrication, Student Internship On PCB Fabrication, 3D Printing, 3D Scanning.

Placement Experience

4

The students become eligible for campus placements from 6th semester if he is worthy enough. In our college, companies like Tech Mahendra, Jio, Amazon, Zantrik Technology Pvt. Ltd, Zaloni Technology, Bharati Airtel and many more came to recruit candidates. The highest package offered was 8LPA and average is 6LPA. The percentage of students getting placements are 75%-80%. My plan after getting the degree is to work on highly reputed company and become a successful person.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees for Btech for all branches of Girijananda Chowdhury University is ?126000. The tuition fees for 1st semester is ?32 000 and from 2nd semester onwards, it is ?50,000. The caution money is ?10,000 which is refundable. The registration fee is ?2000 which is to be paid only during the time of admission. Admission fees is ?10,000. The development fees is only to be paid on 2nd, 4th and 6th semester i.e. ?10,000. No lab charges are taken. Also, if a student has more score than the cut off of entrance exams, then the student has to pay only 50% of the fees. There is a scholarship scheme for Girijananda Chowdhury University students in which students gets some amount of discount from the fees. All the faculties are also well active and the college is clean enough. The overall environment of the college is quite good. The university also focuses on extra curricular activites of student's in different fields. The faculties encourages every students to follow their dreams along with their studies.

Campus Life

5

There are many festivals held in our University. Eg. Japan Carnival, Foundation day of our college, the biggest college fest "Euphuism", Food fest and many more. In the library, almost every books are available of our needs. There are well working fans, lights and generator is also available in the college in case the electricity goes off. Sports week are held every year in our college eg. Indoor games like chess, table tennis, carrom, badminton, etc.Outdoor games like cricket, football, kabaddi, etc. There are also many clubs in our college like drama club, handicraft club, cultural club, robotics club, coding club, photography club, music club, social welfare club etc. There is also NCC, NSS in our college. Idea Lab is also there in our college. In my knowledge I really cant say about social groups but there is a student portal in which we can state every kind of issue we face in the college

Admission

I had applied for AMC in Bangalore and and KIIT, Bhubaneswar also secured a sit on both the colleges. But, due to high fees I couldn't make out there. So, I came up to Girijananda Chowdhury University as it is way too cheaper than any other private engineering colleges which also provides great teaching facility, and this University also provides students in learning foreign languages like Japanese, French and Russian. No, I didn't get rejection from other colleges I applied in. It was just that the fees was too high for me. The admission process of my University is will have to fill up a form and pay admission fees via online. The eligibility criteria is student must get 60% or above in HS and a valid marks in JEE Mains.

Faculty

4

The relationship between the faculties and students are really nice. All the faculties are very helpful and friendly. The faculty I like the most is Manasi ma'am as she is way too friendly and makes us comfortable enough to share everything. The best faculties are Manasi Ma'am, Gitanjali Ma'am and Rashidul Sir. The name of the faculty I don't like is Diganta sir and Kamal Sir. They are maths and biology faculties respectively. Although Diganta Sir teaches well but also starts useless topics in between the class. Kamal sir spends a lot of time in talking on useless topics. There are 4 exams in total. 1st sessional, 2nd sessional, 3rd sessiona and end semester exam. There are a few students who couldn't make up to their expectations. The course curriculum is really good and well maintained.

Night Life

5

My favorite hangout spot in the college is the garden and the swing. Students who lives in the hostel also plays badminton to spend time or roam in the campus. Gym is also there in the college. The timings for girls are 7:00 am-9:00 am whereas for boys, its 6:00pm-9:00 pm. The cafeteria is big enough and had varieties of food which remains open the whole day. The timing of hostel is: For girls, no one will be allowed to be out after 6:00 pm and for boys, it's 9:00 pm. The famous hangout place outside the college is a restuarant named "Chai Nastah". Yes, the locality is safe enough to roam around at night.

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.
