Course Curriculum Overview
Most of the courses were outdated. However, others were quite relevant like Python, SQL, DBMS, DSA. They need to focus on understanding what content they should be adding which is as per the industry requirement.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placement only in the last year or 7th sem. IN 2024, the placement was diaster. Mostly, non-tech were visiting. However, a company named Three Meadows based in Bengaluru made an offer of 8 LPA to 5-6 students. Apart from that, the notable IT companies were Accenture, Paytm.I am not mentioning the non-tech companies. I got placement through college placement in Technical Support in Noida with a package of 3 LPA. However, I did few certifications and internships in Data Analysis Domain and now working as Data Analyst in Gurgaon.
Fees and Financial Aid
I pursed Btech program with specialization in Data Science. The specialization courses have to be paid an extra amount than the normal Btech course. Other specializations in the Computer Science include AI/ML, AWS Cloud etc. I paid around 200,000 - 230,000 INR/ yr. However, it can depend on the course you are pursuing. Admission Process: I came across College Counsellor in their Guwhati office and reached out to hin via call. He then assisted in the admission process. I had to pay 50,000 INR to confirm the admission and then later on the same semester, I was given a deadline to pay the entire semester fees or the yearly fee. If you are paying yearly fee all at a ince, you get a discount of few thousand rupees. There are scholarships option available. If you score well in exams and you have a decent CPGA, a scholarship amount is credited into your account. This is on a yearly basis and you need to maintain your CGPA to keep availing the scholarship. You also get a scholarship based on JEE score and 12th marks,
Campus Life
Campus life is fun. A lot keeps happening every day around. DJ, Bollywood singers concerts are few of them. The campus is vibrant with international students from neighbourng and African countries. Library infrastucture is impressive with every thing automated. You can go to library and sit there for study. Its a large building dedicated to Library. The auditoriums are also mssive. The campus has around 5-6 normal auditoriums and one massive one with capacity of 1000-1200 people. There are various clubs in the Engineering department under a body called Technova. But the faculty involvement is too much in the decision making of the clubs. APart from this, the sports infra is also quite good.
Admission
I was looing for private universities as I didn't appeared JEE. So, I didn't have the JEE Score and still wanted to pursue BTech. I applied to Techno India in Kolkata, but looking at their previous placement, infrastucture and location near to IT companies location like Noida and Gurgaon, I decided to go with Sharda University.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is 1:40. Faculty are supportive in nature. However, they always push for writng research papers and do projects. At one particular, three different faculties having different subjects asked us to write research papers. One of the best faculty in CSE is Mr. Amit Upadhyay. He taught Operating System, C, Python and damn the way of teaching are quite impressive. The exam structure is outlined below: Monthly Test, Assignments (20% Weightage) Mid-Sem Exam (30% Weightage) End-Sem Exam (50% Weightage)
Night Life
There are varuous cafes around the campus. Even subway, cafe Coffee Day is present in the campus. Some popular hostels in the campus are Mandela, Jwahar etc. Girls are not allowed out of hostel after a certain time in nighta as far my knowledge.
