Likes

Loved the campus, it is big, lush green and always clean
Hostels also big, clean, greenery around and well maintained. Excellent food
Good faculty, good curriculum, good infrastructure

Dislikes

More product based companies should be brought for students

Course Curriculum Overview

Majority of curriculum is good. But just like every other college, curriculum does not change as quickly as industry demands change Self study is key for hot skills in tech Rest subjects(outside coding) are taught well

Class Size: 72Course Fees: INR 160000 per year

Placement Experience

Produt based companies do visit CU. Only problem is that the intke of students is humongous amd the no. Of good product based companies visiting is not that huge. So, only the cream and the lucky ones get in the best companies

Fees and Financial Aid

Batch: 2019-2023 Course: BE-CSE Tution Fee : Rs 80,000 per semester Other miscellaneous fees: Under Rs 10,000 per year Various scholarships for top scorers in JEE or 12th exams, defence brats, sports national level player etc.

Campus Life

I liked the campus, it is clean, big , lush green and well maintained. Events are conducted regularly. CU does has the potential. Only drawback is that, the no of students in this campus is huge. Now performing amongst this big crowd, is a big task.

Admission

I chose this college for its potential to bring good companies and fpr getting a good scholarship. I hot 50% scholarship for good marks in 12th exam. The level of companies is also decent as compared to any tier 3 college

Faculty

Faculty is good. Well trained. But you have to study yourself more to excel more. Exams conducted in mid sem and end sem Examination level is also decent. Enough study material provided to clear exams

Night Life

Night life is best for boys, no restrictions till 12 am You can roam around in whole campus in night. For girls, time is around 9:30 or 10pm, but in evenings, they can also roam around freely. It is safe for both girls and boys

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies.This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. The management could be improved. The frequency of exams help us learn well and difficulty is between easy to medium.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

My college experience as a fresher

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

Placement Experience:

After 4 semester students are eligible for sitting in placements. There are alot of company visiting and alot of them take 2-3 with really good package and some handful with good enough packages of nearly10 lpa and the highest package was i think of in last month was of around 60 lpa . My plans after getting a degree is too work my way through companies to a FAANG Companies

From the second year itself students are eligible for campus placements and the companies right now visited are more than 80 + like Amazon Google Microsoft etc the highest package right now in our college 2.5 crore right now as a fresher more than 80% are getting placements which I can I can see and many used to start they own startups and get success in their field as help you teachers them and give them opportunity to learn and do startups and my plan after getting a degree is if you get a placement and huge packages and get a experience from them and to start my own business

My imperfectly perfect College life reviewed for everyone who needs it

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

I didn't apply to any other college. I chose it because it was close to my home. The admission process to give CUCAT exam for which the fees is 1000 rupees. The passing marks are 40 out of 100.
