What Students Say
Likes
- I liked that the teachers were well reachable.
- There were mock interviews conducted in later years to provide experience
- The campus quality is beautiful and big, along of greenery.
Dislikes
- To keep a 100% placement record they pushed students into several startups which just let them partially unemployed.
- Discipline and decorum was horrible because the college is very much full of people who have nothing to do with their careers.
- The management doesn't listen much to the students unless they reach up through unfair means.
Course Curriculum Overview
I picked the course because i really enjoyed coding since i was a young kid. The curriculum is equipied enough to teach you what's relevant but at the same time you get to learn alot of things which would be of no use. The course could be improved by removinh alot of irrelevant topics and adding more practical experience and bootcamps. The exams ranged from moderate to difficult happening at least once in 40 days (had to be a bit difficult to preserve scholarships)
Internships Opportunities
I interned for inforsys not because of my college but because of my own efforts outside college. If i talk about inter ship opportunities in college then it's only goof if you're in top 5% students of your course otherwise your need to figure it out for yourself.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from 3rd year. Couple of complainies from different tiers like HCL, infosys, oracle etc. Along with several startups (not recommended) came for placements with the established companies offering anywhere from 1-20 seats and much more for the rest. The highest package i saw someone from my class receiving was 22 lac per annum while average package was close to 5 lac.
Fees and Financial Aid
The basic fee you pay is 1350000 per semester i.e 10 lakh 80 thousand for the 4 year course. You can avail scholarship by scoring well in their entrance exam CUCET. I'm paying the full fee because i took a take a late admission, some of my classmates got a 40% scholarship which can go upto 80-90% if you score exceptionally high. After first sem, your scholarship depends on your last semester's result.
Campus Life
Cu has it's annunal Fiesta where a couple of big celebraties are invited for performances, along with that there's concerts of mainly local artists happening month to month. The libary is vast enough considering it's a massive university, technologically equipped classrooms with projectors and touch screens are available so i wouldn't say that the university lacks much technological infrastructure. Sports activities are average honestly since they barely generate the university any hype or profit. Social groups are there vary from community to community hence more than of them just exist for namesake.
Admission
I applied into several colleges of DU but ended up deciding to not go because of the distance from here since my family didn't want me to opt for a hostel. No i didn't really get rejected from any other college. The admission process is quite simple, you fill up the form for CUCET entrance exam, and they contact for you admission as you have to submit the basic documents. On the basis of that exam, they provide scholarships.
Faculty
The student faculty relationship varies from course to course as well as faculty to faculty. Some professors would absolutely suck and not care less about the students while the rest really helped. For example my relationship was stained with Sukhvinder sir and ishita man because they would take much extra time to answer my questions. The major exams held through the semester would be mid sems which were held twice in a semester, semester finals couples with class tests depending upon the teacher's call.
Night Life
I wouldn't comment much on nightlife since I'm a hosteler but I've heard it's pretty tight in terms of regulation for girls while it's comparatively more open for guys. There is a gym in every hostel building but again I've never been there. Cafes and eating places as nice as they range from fast food joints to more budget friendly spots. The locality isn't much pouplated since the college is outside the city at the highway.
