Course Curriculum Overview

4

For me, from my childhood,I was impressed to this course, since my father was related to veterinary and animal husbandry. So for me being a veterinary doctor is not a new thing. Curriculum is relevant to the course. It is completely according to the RAJUVAS and the instructions given by the Veterinary council of India. The curriculum on the theory basis gives an idea about the course, but the practical curriculum gives us an idea about the real life applications to be practiced as a doctor. Since, i am 1st year, i am not able to suggest the improvements related to the curriculum. The course on an average is difficult, the frequency and timings of the exams are accurate and perfect based on the difficulty level giving as time for better preparation.

Internships Opportunities

4

Since,it is veterinary college, it doesn't actually provide any direct placements to different companies. But it gives accurate internship opportunities to students. After the course of 4.5 years, the students must go for 1 year internship, as it is mandatory for the doctoral degree with practice. The internship includes 6 months working for the college clinic with stipend and working for the other clinics related to RAJUVAS in different states in the period with stipend. The motive behind the internship is to provide best practice to students before they become a doctor. There is no any projects under this internship, this is direct opportunity to practice clinically about treating domestic animals under the guidance of an experienced veterinary doctor. The stipend will be around 20k for one month.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am doing my course in RAJUVAS affiliated college called Mahatma Jyothiba Phule college of Veterinary animal and Science. The first year 8 lakhs+ extra donation(if needed) . There are no other caution fees or anything like that. I should pay around 40 lakhs for my full course to be studied excluding the hostel fees. Registration fees to RAJUVAS is around 1000rs. There are no category reservation in this college on the basis of fees. Since,it is a private college everyone is treated equally. There are no any other charges like development fees or lab fees except for the annual exam, there is a small fees. Like there is no reservation in this college, most of my classmates have the same fees in here. some of them have joined very early so for them there is a relaxation for their donation only, rest the tution fees of 40 lakhs is fixed. Scholarships are available for getting top CGPA in annual examination for 1st year where the RAJUVAS is the sponsor. 15% of the seats in this college is reserved for merit students, in that case for them, fixed rate of tution fees is only needed. Other than this, there is no any other kind of scholarships available .

Campus Life

4

There is a sports day function with cultural fest on every december month of the year and college day is mostly held according to the calendar of the college. The library in the college is acceptable including variety of books available in the college for referring to the textbooks also. The facilities of the classrooms include an A/C for a class and Screen mointor with senseboard where professors can use it for teaching the students. The board can be used for writing with the stylus. There is also a support for the projector also. The sports activities in the college is fantastic and extra curricular activities is also above expectations with beautiful basketball court, volleyball court and badminton area. There are no any other clubs or social groups in the college and there is no politics in the college also.

Hostel Facilities

3

The room is actually ok with nice ventilation inside it. There are two types of hostels, the one with A/C and other without A/C. Then, all the other facilities are same. There is two guys in a room and attached bathroom is available. The cupboard is available seperately for two of them and beds are also there and racks are also available. The A/C is mainly for summer and it will be off for the class time. Meal quality in the hostel is not up to expectation, totally not acceptable and for 2 to 3 days in a week, the meal is nice and for other days, it's too bad. Registration process of the hostel is quite easy and only a affordable amount of 1.5 lakhs is charged and the amount, if the food is improved, the fees will be worth. No, i am currently staying in A/C hostel and for me it's actually nice.

Admission

I didnot apply for any other colleges as i was mostly interested in being a veterinary doctor since my 10th and i was prepared for the NEET exam. So my target was to get into a veterinary college. Since i didn't get to any other colleges, i didn't get rejections over there. I got a college according to my NEET allotment. Admission process in the college is through NEET exam and Rajasthan state exam for Medical students for their state quota and 30% for management seats. Eligibility is 50% for 12th grade with 2nd group science with biology, chemistry and physics. The cutoff of NEET was nearly 590 marks in All india quota according to NEET 2024. Most of the students are taken from NEET. The overall admission experience is not bad.

Faculty

3

Faculties are not up to the mark. The students who know hindi can understand it very well but for students who don't know hindi are trapped because the faculties only use hindi, they don't use english. For south indian students, it's very difficult to understand. In college, anatomy , one professor is too bad not able to understand and other one is perfect if she using hindi also we can able to understand, the same case for physiology and livestock production management also. In here( i am keeping the name of the professors as secert). There are about 3 internals in total including the annual external, it is a 5.5 year course including exams for 5 years. Most of the students will pass only a handful of students will fail. The curriculum is relevant to the course according to RAJUVAS.

Night Life

3

There is a open gym available in the campus for maintaining fitness and health. There is an availability of canteen where we can get the most of bakery items including biscuits, tea and coffee but no dishes. There is no public area around in the campus. The timings of the hostel is at 8pm the gates will be closed and for the college, the classes will start at 9am and will be over at 4pm including 2 theory classes and 2 practical classes. There is no other places to roam around inside the campus at night. We can simply roam inside the campus.

Exams are held every 3 months which is a pretty good thing. The scope in veterinary is a lot be it in Armed forces. Ngos sanctuaries. MNCs. Or clinics n hospitals or even private practice. You get the satisfaction of helping your patients. Which are animals so even better to help them

Previously veterinary had a semester pattern. Now, it's a yearly pattern with a total of 4 exams each year. 3 internal exams and 1 external exam. Many profs prefer ppts but the best ones give handwritten notes and make you write in class without relying too much on tech.

Course curriculum is good, in the first year itself the students need to indulge with the field practices like feeding restraining and in the physiology subject, blood tests and all make us feel that we are becoming doctors and will treat animals who can't even speak The frequency of exams are every 2 months and they are not that difficult. If a student studies 2 hours daily he can easily ace them
