Course Curriculum Overview
I choose B.com course at Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, Patna University because of it well-structured curriculum. The curriculum provides a strong base in business and commerce feild, preparing students for both masters course as well as professional course such as C.A., M.Com, MBA; etc. Exams are held per semester with college internals followed by semester exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
At first you have to apply online for admission, admission form- Rs.1100 then councilling fees- Rs.2255 and course registration fee- Rs.500 afterwards you'll have to pay Rs.2015 per semester and exam fees- Rs.650 per semester. For SC/ST and females the fees- Rs.170 and exam fee-Rs.350.
Campus Life
The campus has a diverse mix of students, mostly from Bihar and other nearby states. Since it's a commerce college most of students are carrer focused, but social interactions are still good. Vanijya has relatively smaller and fewer clubs available for extra activities. The classrooms are decent but it can be modernized.
Admission
I initially applied for Delhi University and Banaras Hindu University for admission, but ultimately enrolled in Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, Patna University due to family preference and financial constraints. While DU accepted me in Sri Aribindo College, I didnot joined as hostle were quite expensive and family was not supportive. However I got rejected from BHU as the competiton was tough. Admission process in Vanijya is based on 12th marks and a merit list is released.
Faculty
Faculty members at Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, Patna University is good and cooperative. They are always there to help students and also try to understand and find solutions for their problems. My course Bachelors of Commerce is based on C.B.C.S. system 4 years course divided in 8 semesters. Exams are held twicw per semester one is college internals and other is university semester exam. Exams are moderate and anyone can score average marks i.e. pass with CGPA.
Night Life
Patna has a quite nightlife especially around college campus. Since Vanijya is a non-residential college, there is no hostle life or campus night activity. Students usually gather at nearby cafes or near ganga ghat which is marine drive and night views are amazing from it.
Other Applied Colleges
Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com]
Because it was far away from my home town and hostel fees was a bit expensive
