Likes
- One of the most cleanest campus in the country and even though it's run by missionaries, all religions are equally valued here.
- Not just Christmas but all the Hindu festivals are celebrated with same enthusiasm here.
- Faculties of law brach are as knowledgeable as any NLU might have.
Dislikes
- Classes times are too long like 9 am to 5 pm and more than anybody can ever imagine in their lifetime.
Course Curriculum Overview
Law overall is an amazing course and XIM University has made it more advanced than anyone else. It's lovely to be studying under some of the finest faculties and then getting help from those faculties to intern in some of the top litigation firms is another thing. So after 4 and a half months of semester and one month of internship, I don't think I should complain that I need more better opportunity than this.
Internships Opportunities
Well, we have not many corporates in Orissa but Birla Group and Centurion plywood and textiles are some of the known corporates overall that takes us as intern and help us groom with their legal team.
Placement Experience
Well students are eligible after the fourth year actually as students who have done well do get many better opportunity in internships. First and foremost I feel if we do internships seriously jobs follows itself.
Fees and Financial Aid
Xavier Law School of XIM University is one of the best private law colleges in Orissa. Firstly it has like the best infrastructure and the best placements and still the fees is just 75000 a year which is one third of what NLU student pays for facilities lesser than us.
Campus Life
The campus is spread across 35 acres and it's in heartland of the capital Bhubaneswar. We have two large auditoriums and 5-6 mini auditoriums. We also have two seperate canteens like one is for boys and the other one is for girls. We have various fests like Xplosiins and Xamboree and the best to me is our sports fest Xest.
Admission
After passing my 12th boards, I thought of pursuing law as my career. And I found XIM University is best to fulfill my purpose. To get admission in this college, you need to have minimum 45% in aggregate from any recognised board. In alternate, they also consider CLAT, AILET scores. If you have not appeared in any of the entrance exams then you can give university's entrance exam i.e. XLET (Xavier's Law Entrance Test). If we talk about the application form availability, you can find it on their own website that is xim.edu.in . Application fees are 1300/- INR.
Faculty
XIM University has one of the first faculties so naming a few should be ideal instead of one. So, Riddhima Khatri mam who is originally from RGNUL has been teaching for like 8 years now and one can ask any batch that she has taught. Everyone will take her name that we have loved the way she taught us. The next is Sahoo sir who has practiced law for 15 years is another who give goosebumps everytime he comes to the class.
Interview Experience
Related to current affairs and law as let's say the Kho Kho World Cup and Kunbh are the latest trending news so the coming batch will be asked to review that and that is how year kn year it goes as law students need to keep up with that.
Night Life
Buddha Jayanti Park and Biju Patnaik Park are best evening hangout palces with friends. On the days we fell like going all out and party altogether we often go to Mayfair Lounge which is in Jaydev Vihar to have some taste of nightlife in Bhubaneswar.
