University Law College Admission 2024

University Law College Bhubaneswar admissions are based on entrance examination conducted by the institute. The college accepts applications from eligible candidates through a centralized application process which is common for all constituent colleges of the university. University Law College Facilities

The campus is spread over 2.5 acres of land. The campus is clean, calm, and quiet. The campus is well equipped with a library, classrooms, cafeteria, mess, hostels, and other facilities for recreation.

Library: The library is well-stocked with books and journals. There is a sufficient number of references and textbooks, Hals bury laws of India, Encyclopedia, and Dictionaries, etc.
Infrastructure: The campus has ventilated and modern classrooms enabling good learning.
Sports: College provides a facility for all types of indoor and outdoor games. A full-time professional instructor is also available. Facilities for sports like football, hockey, cricket, basketball, and athletics are available.
Hostel: The institute also provides a hostel facility for only girls of 3 years LL.B (H) & 5 years Integrated B.A.LL.B (H) students. All rooms have adequate ventilation and lighting facility. The hostel rooms are on a sharing basis and each hostel block has its own warden.

Ques. Can a student avail scholarship?

Ans. Scholarships are granted by both state and central government for the students belonging to weaker economic and/or social background. The final decision to award the scholarship remains with the authority.

Ques. What is the duration of the LLB exam?

Ans. The LLB exam is of 40 marks with 80 questions that need to be attempted in an hour. There are no negative marks and the exam is multiple choice. General English and G.K. is the focus of the entrance exam.

Ques. Where can I download previous year entrance exam paper?

Ans. The college website has uploaded a few previous year entrance exam question papers for the reference of candidates.

Ques. Is there any relaxation in eligibility marks for students belonging to SC/ ST/OBC?

Ans. A relaxation of 5% of marks, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ ST candidates. While a 3% relaxation of the grade for OBC candidates.

Personal development is the key here as that is something that college make sure that students get this as lawyers have to be smart and should have good communication skills.
Small compact campus adept for fun like walk in the park and play some sports as well.
Our main ground always have some of the other events going on as not just festivals but even on normal days and event can be organized without a prior intimation.

Admission on 12th score as there's no other way out that one can get admission in UTKAL University sd just 120 Seats for BA LLB and therefore merit is the only way. Cut off for general students in general is between 85-90 and for reserved it's 70-75.

Infrastructure is overall quite good as many renovations were made recently.
We have some rare sports facilities like Futsal and Kho Kho Ground.
The ground is set on fire during events and fests and our ground is indeed multi purpose.

Our infrastructure is up to date like even though it's a government college and a government aided university, we still have best of facilities.
Campus i beautiful and so are the surroundings of our college.

Dislikes

There's no auditorium in our university and university should try to build one as that's important.

NLUO was the one where I tried but entrance was such that less seats and steep competition so couldn't made it there. Credits of graduation ensured that I easily got admission in Utkal University's law college and I have no regrets as in brand name we must be lacking but in terms of course and exposure, it's even.

Likes

The best campus life that one can experience is at University Law College, Bhubaneswar.
We have some of the best sports facilities and have theme based functions every year.

Dislikes

A lot of area of the college is unused and I feel it should be developed soon.

Admission:

NLU's are my first choice and NALSAR definitely. Dur to reserved system, even after a rank of 7800, i couldn't find myself a seat. Then I decided I will not leave Bhubaneswar and there were just two options KIIT among private and ours in government. Ours is better so I took admission here and just out 12th marks were considered for admission here.

The Saga of ULC

Likes

Engagment with Campus life was perhaps the best. The exposure is second to none, given it's a Govt. College with plethora of Alumnis and present students.

Dislikes

The infrastructure is way more to be developed. Although many great additions have been added in the past 2 years, then again a lot more work is to be done.

Admission:

I applied to two other colleges, KIIT School of Law (KSOL) and Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT). For the former, owing to my circumstances and the time frame, it was too fast for me to get my admissions done, so I didn't go for it. For the latter, that being an engineering UG programme, I didn't choose that for my mind itself was fixed on pursuing a career in law. Every other colleges I applied into, I got in but I chose what I had to. Up until the previous year, the admission process of the college was through the college's own entrance test, for which some 1000-2000 apply with a merit list of 500-900 students out of which only 60 are admitted. But from this year, the admission process has been done alongside the SAMS, just like any for entrance to any other UG course under the Govt. Of Odisha.

CAMPUS LIFE : The girls to boys ratio is 1:3.The Atmosphere at ULC is very lively as events like Moot court competition, sports, annual function, etc takes place throughout the year.

Dislikes

NO MOOT COURT COMMITTEE : Core committee is very important for the betterment of students yet our institution has no Moot committee, no Adr committee or not even a literary committee.
INFRASTRUCTURE : Though we have newly opened Network Resource Centre, yet it is non operational and students have no access to Manuputra and other information oriented websites.

Admission:

I had applied for- Christ University, Bangalore in which I had been selected through interview. Lucknow central university, Lucknow in which i had been selected through entrance. Falta law college, West Bengal in which i had been selected through entrance. I preferred ULC over any other college in the State because of it's past record of producing great results in OJS exam. Students have a flexible college timing from 8 am to 1pm after which you can prepare for competitive exams. I didn't get rejected from the other colleges as i have already mentioned that i was selected in all but due to the fees structure and long distance, me and my parents were reluctant. Admission from 2024 onwards takes place through SAMS Odisha website where students have to provide their higher secondary marksheet and they will be selected based on their scores and merit with a minimum percentile of 65%.

The infrastructure of our college is very few due to it being in the centre of the city providing a very small campus

Admission:

The reason for my application in this college was for judicial services preparation. This college is also ranked as one of the best college for law in odisha with a good alumnus base and great reputation. It is also one of the oldest college in the country providing law since 1896. I had applied to other colleges like GGU (guru ghasidas vishwa vidyalaya). I also got an acceptance letter from that college but my desire if cracking judicial services made me choose ULC.

The freshers party and farewell party are conducted very well in the college.
The seniors are very friendly with the juniors.

The campus of the college is very small.

Admission:

The admission process includes an entrance examination. This examination evaluates the stusent on Englis language, General Knowlegde and Legal Awareness. The 10th and 12th percentage is also given some weightage. The first merit list students are called for counselling and admission into the course and according to the number of vacant seats, as second merit list is prepared. I had also applied for a B.Sc course in College of Basic Science and Humanitites. However, going for a bachelor's degree in the stream of science wasn't my very choiceand thus, I joined the BA. LLB course.

Doesn’t join directly in the University Law College the admission is based on Career-Cum-Entrance test. The marks are distributed in the following way: 20 marks for +2 exams,10 marks for HSC/ Equivalent,40 marks for the entrance test, and 30 marks for +3 exams. Click here for admission detail.
