Engineering in NMIET

I had an interest in learning about technologies so I have chosen this course information technology in this college. We mainly have to learn coding which is the main subject in this course. The curriculum prepares us to face real life problems related to technology. Every week we have practical of coding subject to make better practice in this subject. Exams are conducted after every semesters and there are total 8 semesters in this course. The end sem exams are most important exams.

Interships are offered to students after 3rd semester. Students need to participate in atleast 2-3 internships before going to the actual campus placement. Companies like wipro mainly offers internship for technical courses in our campus. Many projects are conducted to make students face real-life situations. Some internship also gives decent patents to students

From 3rd semester onwards there are plenty of internship opportunities for students. But job opportunities are offered from 7th semester,till then the students are made capable of facing the interviews and selection criteria. In NMIET college the campus placement is under central PCET cell. Based on students academics and overall performance they are given opportunities. Companies like amazon, Accenture, Cummins, Wipro,TCS,etc visits the campus. Highest package is 48L-50L per annum and average of 8-10L per annum package is offered to students. There are plenty of off campus placements as well depending on what the student chooses. Maximum percentage of students gets placement through campus selection in NMIET. My plans after getting degree is to appear for campus placement and interview.

The fee structure for the course I have applied is 1,14,000 per year for open students for course BE in Information Technology. The fees structure is different for students belonging to different categories. There are many scholarship opportunities available for students. Mostly the scholarship is available for students having annual income less than 8 lakhs per annum. I did not apply for any scholarship. There are various scholarships for female students as well. There is not need to pay any extra fees other than exam fees which comes to he 1000 rs for per semester

NMIET also provides various technical festivals and events in campus in every semester. They are typically held in February or March months. Many events like traditional days, bollywood days, etc are included in this events. NMIETs has a big library and also digital library is available. All types of books related to your particular course is available in the library. The facilities and technological provisions in the classrooms are, each classrooms has blackboards or white boards also every classroom has projector for better way of teaching. The is also a sports department in college which has many indoor aswell as outdoor games. There is a basketball court in the campus. There is also a anti-ragging club in college to avoid ragging and sexual harrasment of students by any means.

I had also applied to DYPIU, but refused the admission there because of the fees structure and curriculum. The college is private and also has high fees. NMIET is under government and comparatively the fees is affordable here. Also the opportunities provided for students in NMIET is great. The admission process is quite simple and quick. Proper and relevant documents should be submitted in online process and then during admission the documents should be submitted in order in proper time. The eligibility for admission is by entrance exams conducted by government like MHTCET,JEE. Based on the entrance score and merit list. MHTCET is the RCM preferred by most of the student for admission. The cutoffs for computer and technical subject is in the range of 85-95 percentile based on the category of students.

The faculty members of NMIET are well educated professors. They are very friendly with students and create a good environment to study. My favourite is our maths teacher, because of her the most difficult subject ie maths has become easy for me to learn. The exams are conducted by savitribai pune university in the college itself. There is one main end semester exam after every semester. In between there is insem exam conducted at college level itself. There is 70 marks paper written per subject and remaining marks for internals which are given by college faculty members on the basis of students performance whole semester.

The gyms, cafeteria , libraries closes usually after the college by 5pm. The campus timings is from 8am to 4 or 5 pm. Hostel students have in time by 8pm. Famous hangout places near our college is, there is a garden right in front of college gate for refreshment. There is a lake behind college where we friends go often. The locality is near talegaon railway station. Lonavala is aslo a famous hangout places for students. The locality is safe but it is said to avoid roaming at night time
