Overall review of indian institute of petroleum and energy

This college is known for its tie-ups with the PSUs. This is one of the major reasons to consider this institution. The course curriculum is not only theoretical but also gives a practical knowledge, i should say it's more leaned towards the practical knowledge They have dedicated course for programming and data structure for a semester. Exams are not very difficult, if we attend the class and do what our professors say , gpa won't go under 9

From the end of 7th semester students are eligible for placements most probably. Mostly PSUs like , ONGC , IOCL , OIL , GAIL, HPCL, RELIANCE , and other IT companies also visit our college for placements Number of offers are more than the students who appear for placements Placement percentage is 98 approximately

The tution fee here is 75k for general and other categories but also tution fee is waived off on the basis of income, they have mentioned it in their official website. For sc/st , they have 100% fee waiver. They just pay hostel and mess fees which is 30k and 33k per semester respectively ( it might get a bit lower when we shift to our permanent campus) Otherwise caution fee is of two types, one is institute caution deposit of total 5k and hostel caution fee is total 4k . Their official website can be a more reliable source as they might just update it , but no major change is expected. They offer many scholarships for eligible students (eg: ongc merit scholarship, hpcl scholarship etc).

As i have mentioned earlier , due to the lack of permanent campus till now, we hardly arrange any events at our college, but yeah we participate in many inter college events. It is expected that after permanent campus, events will take place in a usual manner

Room is well furnished, and it is better than any iit or nits , as it is completely new. Meal is healthy, just like how south indian dishes are. Hostel fee is 30k per semester For PG there are many localites like , mvp colony Maharanipeta (these are the areas where our hostels are)

The placement scenario of this college is only focused on core branches which makes it different from other nits ans iits also. It is a good option if someone wants to pursue a job in a PSU. The admission eligibility is to have qualified jee advanced with a valid rank

Faculty to student ratio is overall good. They are always helpful, even after the class if we go to their cabin they take time and helps us with our issues Every professor is best at their own fields and always helpful The exam pattern is same as iits, Assignments or quizzes + mid sem + end sem

Yes gym is there for most of the hostels. Access to library is only when you are at college, after coming to hostel we can't access to library as we stay almost 3km from college Hostel gate for boys' are open till 10 pm, for girls it is 7 pm or 8 pm mostly Hangout places like rushikonda beach, yarada beach, kailashgiri and many other is there, visakhapatnam is a famous tourist destination after all
