Likes
- We are given to deal with real life situations with hand tools where the real agriculture struggles arrives. It not only teaches about the rural techniques but also make us adapt at any situation. Colleges takes us to different Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
- College takes us to various Krishi Vigyan Kendra’s for rural technology and indigenous technologies and deal with the principal scientist and farmers there.
- We have an excursion for 1 month provided by college itself . We’ll visit different institutions and research institutions of southern India and more like a fun tour.
Dislikes
- It’s about the fees structure. It’s quite high as compared to other government institutions.
Course Curriculum Overview
As it is a professional course as compared to any other BSC courses and we are being provided a month stipend in the final year and south India tour excursion also included and many more scholarship And there was a NAHEP program top students had a 6 months learning program in Phillipines and UK and expenses are provided by the government.
Internships Opportunities
Internship is provided in the final year in the 4th year 1st semester and 2nd semester. In the first semester it is called as RAWEP where we are being provided 15000 stipend per month and in the 2nd semester it is called as ELP where we sell our products and profit is ours.
Placement Experience
My plans after this course will be cultivating mushrooms in my own field. Agriculture not only teaches us farming but also entrepreneurship skills and how to develop a successful business and mushroom cultivation has great scope in future.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees for the all students are same irrespective of their categories. Per semester fees is 14600 and it gradually increases by a 1000 or 2000 for the fresh batches. Hotel fees and other all miscellaneous are included in the above mentioned fees. Scholarships are also provided to the Top 8% topper of per semester exams at the value of 8000 to 9000 per semester. For tea tribes special scholarships are being provided by the authority.
Campus Life
There are many cultural events. Symphony occurs every year then aventine is a fest occurs every year where singers come and perform and DJ night occurs . Then Annual college meet and Inter college meet occurs different sports events also occurs and March past programs.
Hostel Facilities
It is one of the best government hostel ever. Almost no ragging and only hostel rules are followed the seniors. Rooms are very clean , hotel WiFi connections are there. Senior junior bond are good enough and warden is responsible enough.
Admission
I got seat in a reputed institute named Tezpur university it's a central university. But chosen this as my university as it had a wider scope and skill development programs. As agriculture is the emerging course .
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is 1:10 and it is good enough faculties are approachable even the dean of the college. I like Dr. Gunadhya Kumar Upamanya sir for his great guidance towards every students and understands the problem of a common student and teaches very nicely. Per semester there are approx 10 subjects and to pass one subject 50% marks is necessary. There will be one mid term exam of 30 marks for each subject and end term exam of 70 marks for each subject and practical exam of 50 marks for each subject. It is quite difficult to clear if we don't prepare properly.
Interview Experience
Yes we had an entrance exam for the seat in the university. It was named as AAU CET and it was of 200 marks and 200 questions and we were given 2 hours of time. And i got the all Assam rank of 363. Then a counselling process was there at the college followed by orientation programme.
Night Life
It is a beautiful scenery full of flowers and agricultural scenery. The frangrance of flowers are just amazing beautiful ornaments trees and avenue trees , forest trees surrounding the campus with those beautiful lighting.
