Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very relevant and has covered each and every topics required in industry. The syllabus is extremely comprehensive and it covers core engineering concepts , electrical concepts and apart from that our course also contains basic Computer science knowledge like Introduction to computing, object oriented programming, machine learning , etc. This makes us eligible and and gives freedom to even choose for computer science domains along with the core engineering domains. The presence of multi dimensional concepts from Mechanical to Computer science influenced my decision to choose this course. The areas of improvement in this course is no option choose between the courses there is only one open elective, there should be more open electives allowing students to learn whatever their interest is. Exams are held twice each semester, Mid-Semester exams and end-semester exams. In midsems generally 2-3 units of a particular subject are in syllabus and it's difficulty is a bit easy than end-semester exams, duration of Mid-Semester exams is 2 hours and Full Marks of 30, While End-semester exams are moderately difficult covering all the units of the subject, exam duration is of 3 hours and Full Marks of 60. Exams are conducted in two shifts FN(Fore Noon) 9 AM -12 PM and AN (After Noon) 2PM to 5 PM.
Internships Opportunities

The Roles offered were Software Development Engineer Intern, GET Intern, Web Development Intern, Project Intern, Data Analyst Intern, Product Management Intern, and many more. The offered stipend ranged from 25 thousand to 40 thousand per month.
Placement Experience
Placements at NIT Patna are extremely good and it is mostly known for it's lucrative packages and placements. Students become eligible for campus placement in their final year that is 7th semester onwards provided they have no any active backlog and their CGPA is Greater than 6. In 2024 , about 120 big companies visited Nit Patna including Google, Amazon, Samsung, L&T, Microsoft, Accenture, Wipro, Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, PwC, Infosys, McAFee and many more Highest package in 2023 was 1.6 crore, a girl from ECE department secured this offer from Amazon. Average package is about 12 Lakh per annum. Roles offered were Graduate Engineer Trainee, Data Analyst, Product Manager, Software development engineer, Data Scientist, project manager, research trainee, quality engineer, VLSI-Engineer and many more. About 80% of students got placed last year and 96% of electrical Engineering students got placed. My short term goal is to get a good on campus placement and my long term goal is to pursue an MBA from elite institutions like IIM and also prepare for UPSC.

Campus Life
The biggest fest of the college is Corona and Melange held in January Every year and it is the biggest fest of eastern India. It is a technical and cultural fest combined and I last for about 20 days full of events and fun activities. The last edition attracted students from about 150 elite institutions across the country. Library of NIT Patna is very well stocked and has almost all domains of books and journals available along with the newspapers. You can find all your course related books and journals in the life library. The classrooms infrastructure is quite poor , everything is very old and some classrooms even lack basic amenities like fans and proper benches, most of the classrooms do not have projectors and even white boards quality is very poor. There is only one ground in which students play all the sports. There is one basketball court and one badminton court. There is student activity centre where there is facilities for all indoor games and also games like squash. There are a lot of clubs run by students like Web and Coding Club, Tesla , GDSC, Hackslash, Vista, Natvansh, GYB , etc., though they are not very active and their events are generally delayed. There is no any student council or portal as college strongly opposes any such formation of councils which is pretty bad.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel Facilities are not upto the mark. There is very small rooms in Bagmati hostel where even 1 person can't reside but they have placed 3 students in that small room. There is only 2 table for 3 students because of lack of space they can't give third person a table to study which is absolutely blizzare. They charge so much for this pathetic room with no amenities. Meal quality is quite acceptable and is good to eat. There is no non-veg option you will have to pay extra inorder to eat non-veg. Message menu is fixed so it becomes boring after sometime. During physical reporting of college you need to visit the Hostel Management Committee office present in the 2 floor of Student Activity Centre with you admission letter and photo, you need to submit it to the office and they will immediately allot you a hostel and a room. You need to show the hostel allotment letter to the caretaker of the hostel and then you can reside in the alloted room. The cost is hostel is ?34000 per semester which is very high for such over crowded and less spacious rooms.
Admission
I choose this college because of very good placements and I was getting a better branch in this college during my JoSAA Counselling. This College has very good placements and very less fee as compared to the other colleges that I applied for. I got rejection from other colleges due to my low rank in JEE( Joint Entrance Examination) 2024. I was getting lower Branches in top NIT's but I wanted good branches that's why I chose this college that is NIT Patna over them. The admission process of NIT Patna is very transparent and efficient. The only way to get here is to Get a good percentile in JEE Main. Afte giving JEE Main and getting a good percentile and rank , we need it wait for the Counselling to start , once counselling starts we need to do the choice filling in the JoSAA site which is a Joint Seat Allocation Authority and based on our rank and choice filling a seat is allocated by JoSAA . Cutoffs for NIT Patna is Moderately high because it is a very reputable and respected college you need a rank below 30 thousand i.e above 98 percentile.
Faculty
The student to faculty ratio is about 1:70. The relationship between students and faculty members are very formal and teachers encourage students to ask any doubts and we are always to free to visit their office for any kind of guidance. Almost every faculty is approachable easily. We can visit their office directly for any guidance or doubts. Faculties I liked the most were Dr. Gaurav Varshney Sir because of his dedication towards teaching and making us understand the concepts, he left no stone unturned to make us understand topics, he made sure we learn each and every topics. Second faculty which I liked is Dr Anand Shanker Tewari sir for CSE Department because he covered each and every topics and made everyone understand those topics. His teaching style was completely up to the mark. Faculties which I didn't like were Prof. Ramesh Kumar Sir (Because used to to miss almost all of his classes and literally left topics in the end and I didn't understand anything in his class as well due to which I had to refer youtube videos) There are 2 major exams apart from class tests and quizzes, Mid semester exams and end semester exams. Exams are moderately difficult and one has to study well all around the semester to ace these exams. Class Notes are most important for exams and practicing previous year questions helps to understand the type of questions and are really helpful in exams. The pass percentage is about 80% and 20 % of students often get backlog in various subjects. Course curriculum and course structure is very relevant and is upto the industry standards making us ready to conquer industry level challenges .
Night Life
There is literally no nightlife in college because all the Hostels are outside the campus premises and student are not allowed to get out of hostel after 9 PM so we can't enter the campus at night. Gym opens at 6 AM in the morning and closes at 8 PM. Cafeteria too closes at 8 PM. Library closes at 9 PM and Public Area too closes at 9 PM. Hostel Timings are that you can't leave hostel after 9 PM and you can leave after 6 AM in the morning. Most famous hangout place is the Ganga Ghat present beside the campus as it offers beautiful view of the flowing ganga river and it has benches to see and spend some time looking at the view. Inside campus there is no such hangout place because Campus in itself is very small and there is nothing apart from classes and a sports ground
