Course Curriculum Overview

2

The curriculum is very old and not updated with the current technology but is helps to understand the basic of all sort of agriculture machinery and engineering. Very old school teaching methods with black board and dictation the theory is not upto the level need some interactive session and engaging session to get deep knowledge of the concept Examinations are not very often 2 internals and 1 model exam are conducted per semester which is common along all colleges

Internships Opportunities

3

Companies like bull agro, viridhi techno farms, suguna chicken, ARS engineering and kovai agro provide internship in association with the college. Agriculture machinery project where assigned with all the students and they involved in design and developing the machine with the experienced team in the industry.

Placement Experience

4

The placement are good for IT domain but is not good enough for agriculture engineer this actually not on the college side the companies not ready to pay such kind of packages to agriculture engineering student instead they hire diploma students. The placement team continuously provide training and support throughout the course. Around 100 companies visited for placements where 90 are IT domain and 10 are core companies If 100 are enrolled in placement 75 are placed. With avg package of 3 to 4lpa

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fee is around 85k and it doesn't vary when you come through management seat. Plus we have exam fee which will be around 10k per year including both the semesters and they will be charging for the students association which will be another 250rs

Campus Life

3

There NCC in this college which is the best part of the college the disciplined club of the college. There is no proper maintainance of all lab and structure of the college. The library is small which only occupy aroun 150 ppl For sports activity this the best college in coimbatore from cricket to swimming all sort of sports are encouraged here. If your a sports person then this is the right place for you.

Admission

This college in particular for the cross domain placement opportunities and the easy enrollment in the college it was a smooth enrollment experience. Particularly the agriculture engineering department in other colleges are not upto this level the chairman of SIET itself a agriculture engineer which made me to take up this course

Faculty

3

Not all the faculty are phd holders! So the knowledge and experience of the staff and the subject knowledge is not high very few experienced staff are there to take one or two session per week! The faculty to student ratio is 1:45. The lab facility for agriculture engineering is good we can practice agriculture and learn! And there is no separate staff for lab the assistant professors are the incharge person for respective lab. More over the faculty will be dumped with other extra work like placement coordinator and college fest so many class may be skipped and compensation class will not be taken , self learning is promoted and advised Since it is autonomous institution clear all the subject is easier there nothing to worry about the marks. No strict correction or failing the students unless you be the problematic student.

Night Life

2

You can go no where in the night there only 2 bakery and 2 hotels are near by you should be traveling around 5kms to reach the shops The nearest gym is 5km far from college any kind of public place you should travel around 5 to 6kms to reach it. Its not safe to roam during night since the location of the college is on the highway.
