- The crowd here is not very passinate about coding, so coding culture is absent.
- Placement are not very great for BCA students
- Campus Area is very small hence there are not very extracurricular activities here.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is not very updated as it is decided by Lucknow University. Again the course doesn't gives you very much real world experience. Though there are regular seminars arranged by faculty to guide students. And internship opportunities are there from 2nd year onwards.
Internships Opportunities
Currently I am in 1st year so haven't experienced internships as it is available from 2nd year onwards. But i have heard from seniors that these are compulsory internship. So I'm hoping thath there wil be internship opportunities as it required for upskilling.
Placement Experience
There are average placement available here, but our HOD is promising that more companies will cone this year. But mainly my plan is to do MCA from a reputed College or University after completing BCA and this is what is suggested by our facilities also.
Fees and Financial Aid
The semester wise tution fees for BCA is ?31, 000. Cost of admission form is ?1000 and examination fee per semester is ?3500. There are scholarship available but it is for students of UP only. Scholarship forms is released every year in nov-dec. So, the student can take help from their HOD.
Campus Life
As the Campus area is very small, and there are other courses like bba, b.com, mba etc, so campus life is not very great. But there are fests organised like Navarati fest, Diwali mela and freshers etc And there are average sports opportunities here.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities is available for ?90000 per year. But it is not very big. There are usually 4 bed rooms with almirah and tables separate for each student. Cooler is available. There is wi-fi present in hostel. Mess is included in hostel fee, and its quality is average. You have to fill hostel form and you can get hostel easily if room is available.
Admission
I applied to BCA at LU main campus but couldn't get it due to low CUET score. Hence I chose CIMS as it is affiliated to LU and I will get a degree of LU after passing out. I also applied to SVIM indore but as it was very far from my hometown, so i dropped the plan. Admission process: It was simple, I contact the admission cell and fill the form online and sumbited ?10000 for booking my seat along with ?1000 admission form charge. The ?10000 is adjusted in semester fee later. Eligibility criteria: To pass 12th. There is no entrance test or interview.
Faculty
Faculty is overall good and interested in teaching students. But they are more Exam centric rather than improving skills of the students. There are mid and end semester exams that are conducted by Lucknow University, also PUT(internal exam) before semester exams to test students. Level is medium, if students will study the syllabus then exams won't be tough.
Night Life
There is a cafeteria where students hangout with friends in their leisure time. There is a gym also in the campus. There are many parks and malls near the campus where students go to chill. There is hostel available in the campus. Its yearly fee is ?90000 and there are only non ac rooms available there. Mess is included in hostel fee.
