- The college faculty shows no interest in development of skills.
- No internal hackathons or competitions are arranged, only dance and music competition are held frequently.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course covers all the parts of software engineering that are required, but comparing it to the real world scenarios it doesn't prepare you for placements , it should include something like web or app development, how does a website is made and how it works. The exams are very irregular, it doesn't happens in time. It takes a year to conduct a semester exam, which should be taken in a span of 6 months.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees is approx Rs.55,000 which you have to pay in two parts, about 22,500 for 6 months which includes all the categories no extra payment have to be made. But you have to pay the exam form fill up fees at the time of examination. If you are (SC/ST) you have a benefit that you will get some part of your college fees refunded from the e-kalyan government scheme. Other than these no extra facilities are provided with the college fees.
Campus Life
The campus life is good for those who loves to participate in dancing, singing and other co-curricular activities. The name of the biggest fest here is Satrang. No technical fests are held here. The library has a variety of books available you will get the book you want. The facilities that are nice includes the classrooms and the lab that are quite spacious with AC's in the lab. But the bad part is that the systems or computers needs to be upgraded they are of very old version and many of them didn't work. No sports activities are held in the college, neither there are any clubs for a specific genre.
Admission
I have not applied but i went to get admission in KMPM college. The reason i didn't choose it beacuse the student strength is very low as compared to Karim City , also the course fees is higher in KMPM when compared to Karim City. I have asked peoples who have done BCA are placed somewhere, that should i take admission outisde Jharkhand for BCA or not? They told me that it would be better to focus on your skills and the college doesn't really matters that much, just see if the peers group is good or not. So i found out that Karim City has nice alumni, some seniors are currently pursuing MCA for NIT's so i choosed to pursue BCA in Karim City. The admission is simple you need to just apply on time because there are limited seats available. The eligibility is just 12th pass with 60% marks and Mathematics or computer as a subject in your 12th.
Faculty
The faculty members are nice and they are nice to students, the only problem lies in their teaching style, the explaination seems bookish. The course is well structured having all the topics covered. The exams are not taken frequently, in our current batch we have not given exams for about a year. It is easy to pass a exam, 2-3 days is sufficient to get passing marks in a paper. Whereas, talking about the marking scheme it is wise and given what a student expects.
Night Life
The campus has a gym, a cafeteria but no one prefers to go there. The students prefer to have their snacks outside the campus. Talking about the nightlife there is no such thing for us because all of classes ends in the morning.
