Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The Course curriculum like any other private engineering University in India is very outdated with little to no knowledge about the latest and current technologies in any curriculum. The only 2 branches worth mentioning are Aeronautical & CSE. Teachers are well qualified but with very restricted & outdated knowledge. Basics will be covered properly but after that it's all old knowledge about some obsolete technologies.

Placement Experience

4

Placement Opportunities are wide and the Placement program of the University is one of the best in Chennai. As many as 30 companies visit the campus every year, the major chunk of which are IT companies. In fact 80-90% of the companies that visit the campus are IT companies and they recruit students from Mechanical to Civil. Packages are offered are at par with all other Private Colleges. First day companies like Wipro, Infosys, CTS etc hire in 100's. So overall there's a good chance you will get recruited on the first day of placement itself, provided you have filled pages in answer sheets & cleared your Sem exams.

College Events

1

There are only two events which happens inside Sathyabama University campus - 1. Annual Day Function which is a big & the only one that happens in campus with great arrangements 2. IEEE event which is again a yearly affair and you would have to be a topper of the class to be able to participate in it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is the most affordable one among all of the private Chennai colleges. This is the biggest USP of Sathyabama University. The Course fee along with the Hostel fee is among the best if not The Best among all the private engineering colleges in India.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan facilities no idea but there are Scholarship program for Sports quota students and students who rank well in their entrance examination. Sports quota students are King in Sathyabama University. They are allowed to do anything and go anywhere in Sathyabama University. They are like the literal gods among slaves like us.

Campus Life

3

Nil. Zero. Shunya. No other words to describe the situation. Except for Sports Quota students no one is allowed to dedicate anytime of theirs to playing sports. Extracurricular activities are zero too as no staff will allow you to attend any symposium, fest or competitions during weekdays. And nothing happens inside the College campus. So if you're someone who loves extracurricular activities please do not choose this college.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes everyone has to stay in hostels in Sathyabama University for 2 years after which they will not provide you hostel facilities. The hostel facility except for the food is the worst among all colleges in India. It's more like a jail than a hostel. Students are not allowed to step outside the hostel regularly. Students gets to go out of college campus to see the outside world only once a month that too only after the Hostel Warden has received a fax from your parents stating to give you permission to go out.

Alumni/Alumna

Close to none. The only reason they have created an Alumnus community is so that the Alumnus can either recommend their company to come & recruit in the college or if the Alumnus can come in and 'motivate' the students to get placements. The only reason we Alumnus comes tfor such things is just to taste the Sathyabama food again.

Admission

I got admission through Management Quota. Though the fees were very nominal for a reputed private University in Chennai, the quality of food was of a much higher worth than our fees. It's a known fact in the Chennai college circle that Sathyabama University provides the best food menu to it's students and staffs. Though the teaching is not that high for almost all the branches of Engineering except for Aeronautical & CSE, the daily food makes up for it. The fees are still nominal as far as I have heard last. Though after a change in management the Outlook towards students has changed a lot & it's still a safe campus for girls as there are very strict rules when it comes to girls safety & security.

Faculty

3

Faculty differs with each department. Some department has highly trained and knowledgeable faculty with modern approach of teaching but some departments are very old school and limited knowledge. So it depends on which stream you choose. Branches like EEE, Mechanical & Civil have faculties with very old knowledge and no emphasis on new technologies. So do the books that the university provides. Some are as old as 1980, which clearly shows how they look in providing current trend knowledge to the engineers of the future.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum behind or campus is very much updated and it is changing as the technology changes. As the present world is engaging with computer and artificial intelligence,I want to improve more knowledge and also want to compete with others. The time table and the devlopment technology followed by our university is devoloped so that only placement are recorded with high percentage when compared to other. The improvement should be observed only regarding labs.We have write examination for every 30 or 40 days , because there are 3 internal test ,semester and lab exams.Actually time is not sufficient but we have to do hardwork.when compared to other universities or colleges our exams arebwry hard.
