Remarks

college atmosphere and infrastructure are good. It is situated in a green lavy place of Mahurbhaj surrounded by mountains and greeneries. Faculties are also good and helpful. But it lags behind placement issues.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Three years Bachelor's degree course in MPC college is a good option. You will have to pass on six semister exams. Internal exams are also conducted in between two semisters. Two semisters per year will be conducted.

Placement Experience

2

Nope. Placement scope is very less in the college. You have to depend on your own for any kind of placements. I think the college must take serious step towards the placement issues. But being a government college they ignore those norms.

College Events

5

Annual function is celebrated every year both department wise as well as through students union. Students union election is also held every year. Annual sports day is also organised. Similarly college foundation day is also celebrated.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since it is a government funded college fee is very much affordable as compared to other private colleges. You have to pay semister wise during administration. You have to pay examination fees for every semister exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

Good amount of Scholarship is offered or paid to different students bassed on their merrit. Scheduled cast(sc) and scheduled tribes(St) are fully financially supported by the state government sc/st department. Similarly different types or other scholarships are also available to people belonging to OBC and SEBC.

Campus Life

4

Labs here are clean and well maintained along with the availability of different types of nessary aparetus. Abouts sports infrastructure it has a sports common room, a cricket, volleyball, basketball and football ground.

Alumni/Alumna

Being an Alumni of the college i will say the alumni network is very strong. The alumni group gets together in every 2-3 years. Many of the alumni are now reputed doctors enginers and Chatered accounts.

Admission

First apply through http:samsodisha.gov.in/ website. Fill the application with MPC college as first preference. Fill all other nessarry details about you. Wait till the selection date. You will be selected on merit basis

Faculty

3.5

Facilities are good and professional. Will give extra time and help you in doubts. They are friendly and energetic also. Once you are in the college you will like there way of teaching. But remember they are also tok strict in case of punctuality.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.
