Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum of cse cource is now very demanding so i choosed this courses . but in our college our department need to sufficient amount of computers and increase the lab capacity should be needed. .

Placement Experience

The placement of our college is not very good . Our college provides highest package of 9 lakhs and average packages of 4 lakhs .and only 30 persent students got placed .the no of companies visited to our college are infosys,TCS and argusoft

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees per year is 68000rs. Hostel fee is 46000rs. Development fee is 5000rs. Lab fees is 5000rs. Category fee is 28000rs. College doesn't provide any scholarship. Govt provides different types of scholarship like emedhabruti and post matric scholarship.

Campus Life

The overall experience of my collage life is not very good . But our college have different types of clubs such as coding club ,dance club , sole club and drishya club . The classroom consists of a blackboard and a led screen .

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility are not upto the mark. We get decend amenities and facilities to survive in our day to day life. We have a water filter, a 3 peroson room , a bathroom without lock and a washbasin. Meal is not good we just eat to survive.

Hostel Fee: INR 46000 per year

Admission

I choosed this college over veer surendra sai university of technology because of good environment and homely nature . Yes i also got rejected from tha NIT Rourkela because of joint entrance exam ranking

Faculty

The faculties and student ratio in our college is one : ten .the faculties i like the most is sarojananda mishra sir and sasmita mishra madam and the faculty i doesn't like is our HOD .the 80 present students are clear the exams

Night Life

Here nightlife is not good as some IITs or NITs. We cut out night our night life only because of hostel and boys we have. We don't do any late night activites. After a class we just get to hangout in the college cafeteria where we always have a bunch of crowd and no peace.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

Life at NIST

Placement Experience:

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Value For money college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.

Placement Experience:

I am in my final year and 80% of my classmates including me are already placed. All top MNCs comes to our campus and currently most students are placed in the ranked of 10-20 LPA of CSE branch and top placement was of 52 LPA.

Comprehensive Review of Campus life at IIIT Bhubaneswar

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placementfrom the beginning of 7th semester. Major companies that visit include Oracle, Media.net, Tiger Analytics, Incture, Quantiphi, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Informatica and many others. The highest package offered was 24 LPA by Zscaler, while the average package for the electronics branch stands at 6 LPA. This year placements were affected by the recession, resulting in approx 100 students remaining unplaced.

First experience of iiit bhubaneswar

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for internship officially from 3rd yr and for placements 7th semester onwards. Recently oracle has visited and 4-6 gote in there with 26 LPA . Zscalara was also there around 15 LPA . Percentage last year was 80-85 ig. I think I will join as a software developer along with a carrier in photography but let's see what happens.

I chose this college for this particular branch . Electrical engineering is a very respected branch in our college as many industries are built near this area which take students from campus selections.
