Course Curriculum Overview
the course is fairly relevant and builds strong foundation in subjects like digital electronics, communication systems, control systems, embedded systems etc. i chose this because of its real-life applications, but syllabus is not so realistic. exams can happen twice or thrice depending on faculty decision. internal marking is a bit unfair.
Internships Opportunities
capgemini for 3.5lpa, 4.5lpa and 7.5lpa xebia for 4lpa-6lpa LTI mindtree for 4lpa HashedIn for 8lpa Catalog for 25lpa Nammayatri for 20+lpa Junglee Games for 5.4lpa etc. roles like software development interns, full stack developer, business analyst and marketing interns is available
Placement Experience
placement is strong. companies like tcs, capgemini, infosys, accenture as well as amazon, sopra steria, tech mahindra visit for internship opportunities as well as placements. mainly placements start from final year, but many students have been placed since 3rd year too! almost 80-90% students are placed before course completion. highest package for my batch went to 40+ lpa, and an international package of 96 lpa in Japan as well. im looking forward to a job in full stack development.
Fees and Financial Aid
annual fees is 1,50,000. bus transport is available, on fees of about 30,000, though i have not used it. fees may increase each year. college offers various scholarships and merit based schemes based on academic performance. fees include tution, admission, registration, development, lab etc. fees may differ for caste based admission. many government schemes also for students with family income that does not satisfy college fees.
Campus Life
overall experience is good. frequent fests and hackathons are held. many famous personalities are invited over for promotions. the library stays open 365 days. the classrooms need improvement in facilities such s air conditioners, projectors etc. sports activity is limited and only trained students get most oppurtunities. many clubs are run by students. entrepreneurship cell is also there
Admission
i chose gl bajaj because of its reputation and placement oppurtunities in comparison to other colleges. i also applied to ABES, Galgotias and JSS for computer science core branch, but due to high competition and cutoffs, i couldnt secure a seat. i got this college through counseling and was more accessible than other options. i was admitted based on jee merit and 12th board exams. the academic records for 1st semester was also advertised positively.
Faculty
the teacher-student ratio is reasonable and enough for interaction with everyone. faculty members are approachable and supporitve. many professors may not use up to date technology to make learning more fun, but some are quite engaging. the syllabus is according to traditional industrial needs but the electives should have more relevant options. exams are okay and students can pass, but struggle with subjects that are more theoretical or numerical in nature.
Night Life
the hostels generally have a curfew of 10 pm. proper cctv surveillance is there. the cafeteria closes by 9 pm or so, and gym by 8 pm. not many places to hangout, but recently infrastructure is being developed. also girls hostel will be inaugurated soon, so it may be easier for girls to travel around. a new building is opened opposite current location for other courses. nearby you can roam at jagat farm, great venice mall, ansal plaza etc
