Course Curriculum Overview

3

Our curriculum involves subject like data structure and algorithms as well as machine learning, personally i was very interested in machine learning and data structures which influenced my decesion to choose this course. Our curcillum prepares us fo real world applications on a basic level only one has to make sure to take that basic level information and become advanced in that. Improvements may include more practical methods in such subjects. Mid sem exams are usually a month apart from each other and they are easy exams while end sem is at the end of semester with moderate difficulty only

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for placements from 5th semester only several companies visit our campus such as google, amazon , microsoft ,tcs etc. This years highest package was offered by microsoft at 54 lakh per year. The average package this year was about 6 lakh per year. 90% of the students were placed this year. My plan also involve in taking on campus placement

Fees and Financial Aid

Generally fees is 1,20,000 per semester which means 2,40,000 per year but you can get scholarship upto 50% if you have scored more than 90 percent in 12th board or you have more than 90 percentile in JEE mains. You can also get scholarship through CU' s own entrance cucet which is upto 100%. Additionally there is 2500 examination fees per semester. I got more than 90 percent in 12th board so i pay 60,000 per semester

Campus Life

5

There are fests, concerts organized very often. Many celebrities often visit the campus almost every month an event is organized. There are several libraries in cu which have many books and when on CU's wifi you can explore many research papers through institution name. Each and evey classroom has a projector which is used by faculty while teaching. There is a sports complex which allows you to play many sport like cricket, football, kabadi etc. There is a whole departmen called department of Academic affairs for clubs and socities. I am myself enrolled in professional society called IEEE.

Hostel Facilities

4

You get a bed, a study table, an almirah as furniture in your hostel room. There is an elctric switch with 2 sockets and there is one tubelight above your bed. There is a communal bathroom and washroom geyser is provide there. There are HVAC duct which works at specific time in summers same goes for geyser. There is also a communal water cooler. Meal quality is also good and menu is also diverse but it repeats on the same day of the month. Registration process is really easy and can be done online. Hostel fees is 120000 so i would say it is affordable

Admission

I applied and got selected to VIT vellore, Thapar and IPU. I didnt go to vit vellore because my parents were not allowing me to go that far from home (i live in haryana) whereas fees of Thapar was really expensive which i was not able to afford. IPU's spot round came really late till then i had already paid the fees for CU. I choose CU as it had good placements it had less fees than the others(because of scholarship) and its near to my home

Faculty

4

Faculty here are really good. You can easily approach them and they will guide you beyond their subject. I have links with a teacher from my first year who still guides me now and then about some career advice. There are three exams 2 mid semester tests and an End semester test . These exams are really easy to pass , you can pass even by studying the night before exams. Usually i estimate that 95% of students pass the exams. The exams are relevant to the course curriculum

Night Life

4

The closing time fro central library is 10.30 pm and cafeterias generally close at 8 and some at 9 . Hostel timing for girls is 8 PM where as boys can roam in campus till 9.30 pm. There are many famous place to hangout in the college such as fountain park or the d block.

Placement Experience:

As a BE Computer Science student at Chandigarh University, placements are decent but depend a lot on individual skills. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester, and most of the placement process happens in the 7th and 8th semesters. Many companies visit the campus every year like Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, Capgemini, TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some startups as well. There are a good number of offers made, especially from mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys and Cognizant. The highest package claimed by the university goes very high, even above 40 LPA, but those are for a very small number of students. Realistically, the average package for CSE students is around 5 to 7 LPA. Mass recruiters usually offer packages between 3 to 5 LPA. Around 70 to 80 percent of students get placed if they are consistent with coding and preparation. Those who depend only on college studies may find it harder due to high competition. The university also provides training for aptitude, coding tests and interviews which helps in preparation. After completing my degree, my plan is to get placed in a good product based company. At the same time, I am also focusing on improving my coding skills and working on projects so that I can aim for better opportunities or even higher studies if needed.

I exactly don't know but after 4 th or 5 th students are eligible for internship and placements. Generally in 7th semester 90 percent students grab their internship. Many companies visit on campus placement like Capgemini, Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Microsoft and many more. Highest package offered is 64 LPA by Microsoft and lowest was 4 LPA. Almost 90 percent students get placed by 8th semister. I also want to go to a MAANG company after getting my degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1) I want to go in construction industry so i chose this field. 2) Currently our college curriculum is updated so its relevant i will say around 70 to 80% . 3) For improvement Faculties should be brought from all over india as professors here are only concentrated from ludhiana itself. and labs are very old it should be upgraded. 5) In a semester there are 2 monthly exams and one end semester exam. 6) As far as difficuly level of exam is concerned it is not much difficult if someone solved PYQ thoroughly.
