Chengalpattu medical college overview

I personally like science so i took up this course. The college prepares you very well for the real world. By the end of the 5years you would become a full fledged doctor. The current teaching methods are fine but more of mcqs should be concentrated rather than theory writing. According to me the internals are fine but the university exams are very difficult.

The fees yearly is around 30-40k every year The hostel fees is very less and the mess fees comes around 5k per month. For students in the 7.5% category, there is no fees whatsoever. There are many scholarships provided for economically weak students.

There are many fests which takes place such as chemfest, chemsport, tamilmandram, hostel week, etc. All the books and facilities are available in the library. There are all sports facilities except swimming. Other extra curricular activities such as dancing, singing, music are also available.

Mist facilities are available in the hostels but there is no air conditioning. The mess is decent and the is cooked well. The hostels are very affordable as this is a government college but your expectations should not be high. The bathrooms are a little bad and you have to adjust.

I actually preferred for colleges in Chennai as I am based from Chennai. But i was not accepted because of the cut off which is usually high for those colleges. The admission procedure is simple, you have to write the NEET UG examination and then apply to various colleges according to your preferences and then the NMC will allot your seat based on your marks and seat availability.

As the students count is 100 the staffs can easily monitor individual student's performance. The anatomy department was very good. There is mainly one university exam at the end of the year and internal exams during the course. The university is difficult to study but most of the students pass and only around 5 will fail.

The main preparation for neet ug is through coaching classes. I joined velammal nexus, where they trained me for neet ug. NCERT textbooks should be learnt thoroughly to crack it easily. There is no interview for admission.

The night life is a little bad as the intime for hostel students is 9 pm. But during fests there is no intime. The neighborhood is also not safe to roam during night time alone. There are many hangouts such as mahabalipuram beach, mahindra city, etc.
