Course Curriculum Overview
The Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) is pretty relevant to today's needs of a doctor, with more competency based skill learning and regular assessment of students, along with subjects like attitude, ethics and communication skills, pandemic modules etc. The only disadvantage is it still has a few redundant systems such as record maintenance etc.
Internships Opportunities
ICMR projects are advised upon and given mentorship over every year, and students are encouraged to do case presentations in events. Students serve a mandatory one year internship after 4.5 years of study.
Fees and Financial Aid
Paid about 13k for first year tuition fees, along with department fees, University exam fees etc came up to a maximum of approximately 25k. Extremely affordable in terms of fee plan. People who come under 7.5% government school reservations have other special scholarships and offers like free books, tabs etc
Campus Life
Campus is not that lively, but annual fests like chemfest and sports event called chemsports does take place, along with an annual tamizhmandram, academic event called Charm, hostel week, Pongal celebration etc.
Admission
Selected this college in TN state medical counselling as it is near my home and it is easily accessible for me as a dayscholar. Admissions was based on the state ranklist via state counselling done online. Ranklist is released based on that year's NEET score.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio varies from department to department, but it is pretty low. The interaction and personal relations between the faculty and students decreases over the course. Also, many faculties may be intimidating and less friendlier compared to others.
