- It lies in the lap of the nature, hence has a very peaceful environment around the campus far from the hustle-bustle of the city life..
Dislikes
- Since it is situated in a remote village area, the transportation is somewhat difficult. It serves as a major problem at certain times.
- Lack of new age technologies and their respective equipments.
- The corruption that is deep embedded in the administration.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is a bit outdated but still manages to satisfy the core requirement of the engineering training. The new technologies and concepts should be introduced into the curriculum to make the students more industry-ready. The frequency of exams is normal and the difficulty level is intermediate.
Internships Opportunities
Currently, our college doesn't provide internships for the students. But students can enroll into the other internship programs offered by various organisations. The students are actively encouraged to get into internships to better their skills and future aspects.
Placement Experience
Due to recession, the on-campus placements for CSE and ETC branches are walking on thin ice. Students are eligible for the placements from 6th semester. TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Adani are som of the major companies that visit for the placements drive. The highesst placement package is 13LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The admission fees was Rs. 73,600, since both CSE and ETC come under self finance courses in our institute. The course fee thereafter is Rs. 68100/Yr. Here is the breakdown: Tuition fees- Rs.45,000; SSG-Rs.100; Internet fee-Rs. 1000; Site visit-Rs.1000; Student activity-Rs. 3000; Lab maintenance-Rs.3000; Development fee-Rs.15000. The examination fees for each odd and even semester is Rs.3700 and Rs.1700 respectively. However, the rank opener(a boy & a girl) for each branch falls under TFW category, hence avail a discount of certain percentage. The students avail numerous amount of scholarship schemes and benifit from it. Some scholarships are provided by the state government also the central government, and some are given by private organisations. The students coming from SC and ST categories avail more number of scholarships than the rest. The enrollment process for various scholarship schemes normally start in the first year, and gets renewed every subsequent year, until the completion of the course.
Campus Life
Horizon is the biggest fest organised by our college which also invites students from other colleges to visit, participate and enjoy the festival and Aarohan is our annual festival. The infrastructure should be improved. There are varioue clubs running in the college, which help students nurture their creative skills in barious fields and develop them for the future.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel infrastructure is very old and each room accommodates 5 students in the girls hostel which can be very congested. However, a new histel is being constructed for the girls. Also there aren't enough hostel accommodation for boys. The meal quality is only survivable at best.
Admission
My main goal was to get admitted into the top branches of NITR. But unfortunately I couldn't, due to lack of the sufficient JEE score. My main objective was to get enrolled into non-core branch courses. I also had, OUTR and VSSUT in mind, but lastly I settled for ETC in IGIT since I gave more emphasis to branch rather than college.
Faculty
In our department, i.e. ETC Dept. the faculty-to-student ratio is 1:4 for our batch. Susanta Sir, Biranchi sir, Sunita Ma'am, Gyana sir are some of the most supportive faculties. Each semester consists of 2 internal examinations and one end semester examination. Practical examinations are also conducted for each semester. The difficulty level of the question paper lies on the intermediate level.
Night Life
There is an Open canteen(OC) which is a common hangout spot for the students as well as the faculties. There also exists a mini park adjoining the OC. The campus also have a cafeteria. The girls don't stay out at night due to the strict in timings which is 6 PM. Regardless, the campus life is lively enough.
