Course Curriculum Overview

5

I usually very interested in commerce, marketing and entrepreneurship. So that influenced and made me interested to choose this course. It prepares me very well to face the real world application and gives us enough experience to gear up in future. My suggestion is that practical exposure is the best teachings rather than lecturing the theory because it develops us to face future. The time when the examination conducted is very convenient for us and also we get more time for preparing our exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

In my first year I paid ?24000 as fees which includes my two semesters fees and exam fees for both the semesters and book fees. In my second year I paid ?20000 as fees which includes 3rd and 4th semester fees and both the semesters exam fees and book fees. And in my final year I paid ?20000 as fees which includes my both the semesters exam fees and semesters fees. Since our subjects are full and full theoretical and does not includes any practical exams, there is no lab fees for us. Also there is no tuition fees in our college but if there is any arrear students has to pay ?500 for one paper and for retotaling semester exam paper students has to pay ?200 per paper and for revaluation ?750 must be paid. Also if attendence percentage is less than 75%, students has to pay ?1000 as fine. For other department students of our batch, the fees may vary. It may be ?25000 for one paper and includes lab fees for computer science students and biology students and Viscom students. For shift 2 students, the fees is totally higher than first shift students. For shift 2 students, the one year fees is upto ?60000. Our college provides scholarships for students based on some categories and their parents' income level. The scholarship amount is from ?2000 to ?5000. Sometimes the management provides fees concession to students.

Campus Life

Our college annually conducts a 2 days cultural festival for our college students where the students can showcase their talents infront of the other students. The cultural festival takes place every Year September month. There is a wide range of books available in our college library. The biggest library it is. Students can access to variety of books they want. The technologies available in our classroom is projector screening facility where staffs can teach with it. Every year during February month sports day is conducted and they encourage everyone to participate. Our college is best for social services. For all the second year students, there is a outreach program for 2 days every week where they have to go to any slum areas and help those needy people in guidance with a professor who is incharge for outreach. And also there is a variety of club in our college for first year students.

Admission

I applied Loyola College and Gurunanak college and my only aim is to get admission in Loyola. Suppose if I can't able to get into loyola means, I'll move on to Gurunanak. And luckily I got admission in Loyola within 5 days after I Applied for it. I choose Loyola College because of its good reputation and environment and also most of the great people learnt there. So I choose Loyola College to be one of the great people among them. No the other college I applied for also called me to join, but I choose only Loyola over other colleges. The admission process is online application method where we have to fill the application and submit it and if we get admission, we have to pay the 1st semester fees and join the College. The eligibility is we have to score more than 80% in our 12th standard board exam if we have to join shift 1 and if we have to join shift 2 means less than 60 to 80%.

Faculty

The faculty and Students relationship is a great bond in our college. The way they treat each and every students, helping them in studies, financially, academically and in all aspects is appreciatable. The Professor I like the most is Dr.Arul Suresh sir, Senior professor of Commerce Department, shift 1 Loyola College, Chennai. Not only me, most of my classmates mention him as their favourite professor because the way he treat and behave to students without any partiality is a great gesture. So I like him the most and all the professors in our department is a best professors. I never say that I don't like this staff or professor. All the professors are my favourite. There is 6 examination in our first year and second year and now only 5 examinations in our final year. The difficult subject I say is Accounting paper but most of the students has got passed in their examination. Only 3 to 4 students may got fail mark. It is so relevant to our course because some of our students are willing to join in auditing and marketing which needs commerce and accountancy course.

Night Life

5

There are many restaurants around our college area and we hang out with our friends eventually and also there are malls near our college and cinema theatres. The timing of our college for shift 1 is 8:15 AM to 1:15 PM and for shift 2 is 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM and Hostel timings may vary

Course Curriculum Overview:

The specific aspect will be accounting that made me choose this couse. The curriculum made me to prepare for future accounting field works and knowledge around the field. The improvements that I suggest may is to add more relevent real life job experience in subject books itself. As per me who is one of a topper student in my college, The difficulty is moderate to me and timing of exams are more enough to fill all the questions.

Placement Experience:

In MCC there is placement but it's not 100% placement, only 10 to 20 from a class of 60 gets placed, so when it comes to placement it's upto to you and your skills. Normaly the placement enrollment starts at beginning of your 5th semester or end of your fourth semester, you can opt for placement or higher study. The highest package was from Standard Chartered & Deloitte it was 6 Lakhs CTC. Accenture, TCS and some well known companies will participate in placement drive. The average package will be Rs.3.5 Lakhs CTS. I'm planning to go for higher studies while doing a part time job after getting degree.
