Course Curriculum Overview

4

Mostly when a students opts for a course,he considers the faculty, evaluating criteria and grades i.e., how the faculty teaches and for what all activities he gives the weightage of marks and how he evaluates the answer sheet. You can find many assignments based on practical analysis, research papers and projects in different courses which gives you good clarity over the physical applications and it's real life uses. Some courses also present videos to properly present the real life examples from that course. The faculty need to improve in the way of teaching, some have a lot of knowledge but fail to present it well. Also they should give decent level so that students can do all by themselves rather than copying from the chatgpt. We have 2 sems in a year as other colleges. In each sem, there are 2 exams held,Midsem and Endsem.Mostly the faculty tend to give the first half syllabus in the Mid Sem exam and the second half in the End Sem Exam and also some faculties consider the complete syllabus from the beginning in the End Sem Syllabus which is a challenging thing for the syllabus because we have to cover a huge portion of the syllabus.

Internships Opportunities

4

Frugal testing, Nvidia, Bosch, Accenture,Tesco, HCL tech,Siemens, code young, Lens, wbber, sky link, Infosys etc and many more are the companies you can see offering placements and internship to the students here. Some companies offers internships with stipends and some doesn't have any.The range of the stipend provided is from 20,000 to 1,30,000 per month depending on the role given and the company. Roles offered will be as backend developer, frontend developer, fullstack developer, app developers etc. Students mostly participate in the hackathons and work on the projects in the given domain by forming a group under some professor as a mentor and thus continue forword by representing the college.

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for placements in 4th year 1st sem itself and for that students have to have some given minimum cgpa and least given number of active backlogs. We do get companies for placements from different places and domains. We get placement offers from Luminous, Hindustan petroleum,ICICI,Nvdia,I'm beside you etc. Highest package was 60 lakhs per annum and 16 lakhs is the average package going on. Approx 50 to 65% of the batch gets places by the end of the placements procedure. Once my degree is done, either I would work in a company or would go for further studies of MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm an OBC candidate and I'm sharing my fee structure for a year provided to me: Academic Registration fee: 1000 Tuition fee: 2,00,000 Cosaa fee: 5000 Health facility Charges: 2000 Other fee: 12000 Now let's come to Hostel and Mess Expenses: Hostel Admission Fee: 1000 License Fee: 3,500 Hostel and Mess Establishment Charges: 17,500 Dining Charges: 64,400

Campus Life

5

The biggest annual cultural tech fest is called MERAZ. The fest happens for 3 days and you find a lot of stalls, games, sports, tech workshops going on during that time. Also you get a DJ Night, a Band, a Singer and a Standup comedian every year during the nights of the last 2 days of the fest. The meraz takes place in the month of November. Our iconic building, the library is a huge place with a lot of books from all domains. You can find books there from the range of books required for the courses taught in the college to the fictional and sci-fi books for entertainment and also divine books like Bagvadgeeta too. The facilities in the classes are very well, you get wifi mostly everywhere in the campus. You have proper working ACs, Lights, Fans and well designed chairs. Also projectors are there in all classes for any slides projecting and presentations and high strength classes has mikes and speakers for the faculty to make voice audible to everyone. Sports is one of my favourite thing here, you find well facilities for sports. There is a sports council seperately to take care of the sports facilities and many intra college sports meet are held in a year to keep the sportsmanship quality active in the players. You can find grounds for all sports but football and athletics ground is not proper as it will be constructed in the 2nd face on the new IIT Bhilai campus. You also find many social groups and clubs here, like Nirvana which is for LGBTQ people, you also mental awareness groups to take care of mental health of the people here. And many other social clubs like dance, drama, photography, filming, art clubs can be seen.

Hostel Facilities

5

Two sharing rooms are given to 1st to 3rd yr students and single occupancy rooms are given to 4th year students. The rooms are big enough for 2 persons. You get 2 beds, 2 study tables and chairs, 2 shelfs,2 fans, 2 tubes and 2 study lamps one for each. Ac will be there in the rooms and one wifi for 2 rooms is provided. Rooms are spacious, cleaners come everyday and clean only with your permission and presence.Lock and keys,Acs remotes for each room will also be given. Also mineral water filters are also present beside the washroom area.you have hot water facility and showers too. We generally don't like meals much, quality is good enough but they serve repetitive curries and thus we are fed up.Menu is generally provided to the students which is weekly wise and the same is followed. There is special big registration process for rooms but we just have to write our names and the room we are alloted, sign there and get the keys, that's it. As the college is completely residential, all have to live within the campus only whether they are students or faculty. So there are no pgs or rented rooms available nearby for stay.

Admission

I cleared my IIT Jee advanced paper and I analysed the previous year cutoff criteria to get into the college and accordingly I chose the colleges in a particular Order.Firstly being an IIT,you will find many perks in case of fame, job, tag, title etc. Also I prioritised some branches over other in which I was interested,so considering my rank,my branch and my college options,I got in IIT Bhilai.I also applied to other IIT and some Bits,VIT and some EAMCET colleges but I decided to select this over other lower colleges. I got rejected by other 1st and 2nd gen IITs as my score was not enough to get into those,I could have got into those if I would have chose some other lower branches like Metallurgy,Ocean engineering etc but I wasn't sure about choosing those branches. The exams you need to write to get into IITs is Jee advanced for Btech and Integrated Btech and Mtech and Gate for Mtech. The eligibility criteria is you have to qualify Jee advanced first to write Jee advanced, and have 75% score in your 12th exams whether it be state or CBSE board. The eligibilty score depends on the year wise cutoff marks given by the exam authority itself and it differs every year. And once you clear and be eligible, you have to select the colleges according to your priority and you get colleges according to your score,Rank and the college and brach you chose. Once you get selected in a college, you have to get all the needed documents like Jee score card,Adhaar,Caste Certificate,Income certificate,12th marks sheet etc and get verified. And once this process is cleared you get into that college

Faculty

Ig the faculty-to-student ratio is not that decent because we don't have enough faculty for the courses, this we get only a few courses offered and have to choose among them only. Would say Dr.Nikhil Chander sir is good at teaching,he is our electrical professor and I personally like his way of teaching and explaining. One sir I didnt like is our electrical machines sir because he doesn't know how to properly explain things in a understandable manner. Its not just about knowing the subject but also presenting it well enough is also very important. We have exams depending on the number of courses we choose, and in case of labs we don't have any written test,it's the lab test and viva. And the difficulty of the examination depends upon the faculty and the paper he sets for the examination. If the faculty is very tough then you find many students failing sometimes may be half of the class too. And some faculty are chill enough that you can get a decent grade just by one night batting. If you fail in any course, you have to opt it in some other semester to clear the course.

Night Life

5

My favourite spots are faculty house side lake, Tree near NJC cafe,Infinity Corridor bridge in the acad area. Mostly people prefer going to the lake are,it's a beautiful and calm view there, you see 3 small fountains there and also a bakery and a Mart near it where students mostly prefer to hangout with friends. There is a gym in the upper floor of the mess,it opens early in the morning are there are different time slots in the morning and the evening and the gym opens at 5 am and closes at 8 pm in the night. The mess closes by 11 pm,i.e., you have have dinner before 10 pm.And the cafes like NJC,Tech cafe are open further too.The tech cafe is the night cafe for the campus and stays open upto 3 am,you see friends hanging out there in the late nights. The campus in timings is from 6 am to 10 pm and the hostel in timings is open all the time but have to write entries. There are no famous places nearby, there's a mall within 2 kms which is common place to roam.Roaming at nights is not safe.

Placement Experience:

To be honest placement scenario is not really good. One becomes eligible for placement in the final year. Companies like cognizant used to visit the college for mass recruitment but after covid even they are not visiting. But few startups visit every year. The highest package this year was 12 lpa ctc. And avg 6 lpa. Only 30 percent get placement. My plan is to do M TECH.

Remarks:

As I've mentioned above the management is worse but the teaching system is good. The director is a piece of shit a bald cunt. He did not even know what he was doing. He was a non cooperative asshole. All he did was snoooe around in classes and intimidated teachers. All in one it is a good college to tak admission in.
