Dislikes
- In recent times, for ug courses the professors doesn't seem to be as competent as previous professors
- We can't opt for zoology as our major subject.
- Learning Bsc and Bed during the same course is a tad bit hastening and also more focus is given on BEd then BSc
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is relevant and broad.
BEd curriculum: indepth and invludes a broad spectrum of topics from ancient education to modern day education and new policies, part of the curriculum includes about various laws for child abuse, women autonomy. Gender school and society was an interesting topic for me.
Bsc curriculum: was also appropriate however lacked depth of concepts except thermodynamics and some of the papers were very easy however some of the papers were not presented well and hence lacked clarity of concepts. The practical curriculum is also just okay i won't say very good because it didn't seem like we learned things according to our level.
So in short BSc courses<
Internships Opportunities
Internships available at various schools like: Podar international Chaitanya school Swaminarayan dham international School Airport school Kendriya vidyalayas etc Students can also approach their nearby schools. Also the schools might vary each year. Internships were unpaid, the instructions for internships were usually partially clear but the format is provided by the college which kind of helps. Also more emphasis is put on wearing saree then the quality of teaching practices. Taking away another star only for that particular reason cuz there's no compulsions on the male's attire, however female's are very much forced into sarees ( not even formal suits are allowed) and as someone who had to go a distance of around 40 km in a saree with another girl in saree sitting at the back. It made my experience extremely unpleasant.
Placement Experience
The placement cell is really good, In fact three of the now graduated students got foreign placements ( all schools are under Bhavans middle east school, Bahrain indian school) also the Institute provides local or national placements with avg salary around 20000-25000 rupees for graduates and around 25,000-35, 000 for post graduates
Fees and Financial Aid
Our fees was around 22000 rupees (exam form fees are charged separately) per semester. There are provisions of scholarship for reserved groups . For other under graduate courses also the fees is similar. The fees is slightly higher for Master courses. There's entrance exam I3T, the person securing 1st rank or so also gets scholarship.
Campus Life
Campus life was good . No ragging or bullying its a safe campus, college hours were however long i.e from 7:30 to 3:30(5:00 pm if you join skill courses). Various programs were conducted such as youth festivals on a large scale. Exams were frequent and also morning assembly attendance was mandatory ( which sometimes felt like nuisance, since the whole day attendace was counted based on that). Also teachers were not really active to inform their absence and 80? attendance would compell students to come on unimportant days.
Admission
They are miles apart, since another one was DU. But however this college wasn't that bad of a choice for me. Just that i would hace learnt things better ( conceptually and in depth) in DU. Admissions started very late in DU and one of my teachers suggested this college. The college is near to our Residence so it was also convenient to commute.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is okay ( 1 faculty over 70 students in first year, as you choose your majors the student to teacher ratio improves) Faculties I liked: Dr. Hemant prajapati chemistry faculty Hetal ma'am Dr. Prerna shelat Nikita shrimali( was not that experienced but used to put best efforts to find interesting ways to teach topics of education) Faculties I disliked: Charmi gohel ma'am (Didn't have knowledge of the subject , used to miss lectures, positive point is good at drama and dancing) Zeal patel ( inexperienced and slightly unprofessional, wouldn't accept suggestions or feedbacks ,positive point is enthusiastic) Ashok sir( lacked significant amount of knowledge in the subject)
Night Life
Healthy and good night life. Very safe , our college has( or had idk ) a really good canteen with great food at affordable price. Tge campus has a small garden and incubation center which is usually the hangout spot for student. Around the college we have ldrp circle, which has a lot of food carts around it and swanim park, dandi kutir, gandhinagar railway station are also very near.
Other Applied Colleges
Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Chemistry)
