Course Curriculum Overview

4

I did the commerce course on my own accord and liked it.Since this is a rural college under Bellary University, there is not availability of teachers for all types of subjects, but all the available teachers were teaching well. But since our academy came under NEP, practically we were not getting any proper syllabus for it. However, our teachers would find subject sources elsewhere and teach, so there was no difficulty.

Fees and Financial Aid

In our college, we charge a fee of 5,500 for general category and OBC students.Students of all categories will get a scholarship of 5500 from the State Scholarship Portal.SC/ST category students will get prize money of Rs. 20,000 along with SSP. We pay 500 sem fee per semester. We will pay 1,500 as exam fee per semester.

Campus Life

4

Even though I am studying in a village college, the college campus here is very peaceful, has a green environment, and has a good ecosystem. It is a good campus for reading and all kinds of extracurricular activities, with well-equipped libraries. The teachers of this college are very encouraging, recognizing the talent we have and providing a platform for it.

Admission

Since I am a village girl, our college has given me the opportunity to study in a nearby village college as we do not have the facility to send me to study in a distant village. This is a very good college for students suffering from financial problems in the village. Although it does not have all the facilities, it has good teaching facilities. Our college offers direct admission to all those who have passed PUC in Commerce. There is no need to pass any entrance test.

Faculty

4

When I was studying, only BA and BCom were available in our college. At that time, not all the teachers of the Commerce Court were available, but the available teachers taught very effectively and well. There were a total of five teachers in the Commerce Department and 12 teachers in the Arts Department. There were a minimum of 50 students in the Commerce .Academy and 160 students in the Arts Academy. In our college, they gave importance to all kinds of cultural activities apart from the subjects and provided a platform for all students to showcase their talents. The sad thing was that students never knew when the exam would be held. Sometimes it was held in the same month, sometimes it was postponed by three months. This made it very difficult to read quickly and remember what was read.

Night Life

3

There is no night club in this college because all the students here travel to the college by bus and go home after completing the college.Since it is not a large college, there is no nightlife facility here. There is no hostel facility here. It gives a very positive experience in terms of studies.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
