Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am always fascinated by the codes and development that's why I chose BE CSE and it's really worth it. Throughout the course I got to learn so many new things and I developed my skills in development and designing. The curriculum that the University provides covers all the important aspects that are needed to become a successful software engineer. I believe that the University should focus more upon the designing and development area. Overall teaching methods are very new and productive. And the way the monthly exams are designed prepare us well for the finals!

Internships Opportunities

5

From the 5th sem that is for third year we are eligible for the internship opportunities in our university. Different companies offering various roles like software engineer trainee, full stack trainee, data analysts trainee and many more will come and you can apply in their placement process as per your interest. Just be very sure to work well in your projects and build up your resume in such a way that clearly defines your potential and your role. Try to work on as many projects as you can!

Placement Experience

5

Students are eligible for the placements from the 5th sem and they can sit and appear for the placement processes after fulfilling the eligibility criteria for the company. Capgemini, TCS, Deloitte , EPAM, Accenture, Microsoft R&D, Quantify, Alert enterprises and many more are the companies arriving here for placements. The highest package offered till now is 54.2 LPA and the average package is 8LPA . Almost more than 95 percent of the students are placed here. Currently I am also placed and my further plans are working and gaining technical experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

So the year I applied for my course was 2021 and at that time it cost me Rs 90000 per sem but it gradually increases over every year so you can go and check the fee structure on their official website. First you have to appear for CUCAT exam which is basically a scholarship cum admission test. Also I got a scholarship of 50 percent via my 12th grades. But you have to maintain this scholarship by maintaining a score of 7.5 cgpa and above throughout your course. Also the university provides loan facility also.

Campus Life

4

My campus life has been full of fun and learnings. Every year there are so many fests and hacakthons where you can showcase your talent and projects to the esteemed guests which opens your way to a lot of opportunities. There are many clubs and tech societies in the campus and you can join them as per your interest. Sports complex is a place where you can join and practice the sports of your choice. Overall they provide you every possible way to showcase and polish your skills through different competitions and communities.

Admission

The very first factor to choose this college over the others was the affordability of the courses that too with all the facilities. Next factor was the placement rate of this college. The number of companies arriving here and the number of students getting placed is another reason to choose this place .also the college is near my hometown. The infrastructure of the campus is cherry on the cake. All these factors make me choose this university. The placement process is very easy .First you have to register on their website for the CUCAT exam and rest the team will guide you for the further process.

Faculty

4

The faculty student relationship here is very supportive and friendly. They are there with us always whether it is emotionally or academically. So we have two MSTS every sem and a final sem exam . The grading is relative so it becomes easier to maintain a good cgpa .

Night Life

4

Being a hosteller we were not allowed to roam in the campus after 8pm unless and until there is a fest or competition. But during fests it's like a complete fare with a lot of stalls, games and performances. Outside the campus it is completely safe to roam around at night. My friends have been telling me about their parties and hangouts at different places . If you love to travel then there are so many places to discover. Some of them are solan, manali, morning hills etc.

Google, NVIDIA and likewise many others who are planning to have their setup in Punjab are already hiring a lot of people from our college. So, placements median so far is close or a shade above 10 but obviously it will grow to 20 till our turn comes.

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.
