Course Curriculum Overview

4

The specifics of the course that really caught my eye was how they were teaching from the basics. This ensures that everyone can understand the concept from scratch as everyone didn't get to learn the same in their 12th as they mightve opted for different courses in the 12th grade so its really helpful how they start the course by first teaching the basics then slowly yet steadily progressing towards the topics. The improvements that can be made are that there are some teachers who do not teach to teach but to just finish the syllabus and the lecture at the moment so when bringing in lecturers it needs to be sure to only appoint the ones who actually want to teach and not just want the specific class or the lecture to get over. The frequency of exams are quite well structured regarding the syllabus, in the final end semester exams we have 3 terms, term 1 , term 2 and term 3. So after the teaching of term 1 is completed we have the mid sem 1 exams, when the teaching of term 2 is done, we have the mid sem 2 exam, and when the teaching of term 3 is done we have the final examination with the complete syllabus of terms 1,2 and 3

Internships Opportunities

3

The collge offers several internship programmes for the students when the enter the final year of the course or in the semester before the final year of course. A lot of various high end, mid end and low end companies provide both with stipend and non stipend internship programmes to the students Big mncs like google, Microsoft and other companies also offer internships sometimes

Placement Experience

3

The placement eligibility semesters vary depending on the course and the total semesters there are in the course so if theres a four year course that is 8 semesters in total so the placement eligibility semester will be the 5th and 6th semesters and if theres a 3 year course that is 6 semesters, then the eligibility for the campus placement would be the 4-5 semesters. The campus is visited by all thr big companies like google, tata, realise, Qualcomm, Microsoft and so on and offer good placements The percentage of students getting a placement varies every year but in general every year is lile 90% placements which is quite okay is u ask me My plans after getting degree are to get a decent placement and work for an year or two then complete my masters

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for the course is ?68700, For 3 yrs , and 6 semesters. Tho i on the other hand had to pay ?38000 for the first 2 semesters, as i had a 40% scholarship. For scholarships, you maily have the give the university exam known as the cucet and based on your score, you get the given scholarship. I scored between 80-90 marks so i got a 40% scholarship, whereas if you score 90+ you get a 100% scholarship for the first 2 semesters and sfter that, if you mainten a cgpa of 7.5 then your scholarship continues.

Campus Life

4

My overall experience with the campus life is quite alright, not very good nor bad its okaish id say. Tho the campus is quite big and there are a lot of ppl but thats not always a good thing as ppl are always scattered everywhere not really everyone getting along with each other so theres a chance that you could be from the same class and still dont know each other. There are fests and stuff organized on a very frequent basis both small and big Along with the main fests like the main college fest known as the CU fest along with the freshers party and the tech events organized every year

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facility is quite nice and peaceful. The hostel room i have is a 3 seater non ac room and the fee for it is ?132000 for an year, which is quite alright compared to other hostels. The facilities provided in my room are the cooler, a decently sized balcony with a decent washroom, a bed, a large size cupboard and a two racked study table. And surprising, the food quality is very nice, we get both veg and non veg food on seperate days

Admission

The reason why i chose this college over others had a lot to do with the scholarship offered here along wirh the generally okaish fee it offered compared to other colleges. I applied to a lot of colleges with the jee mains, cuet exams along with personal exams of several colleges like vit, shiv nadar, bits etc The eligibility criteria for my college is passing the 12th grade from a reputed board, and through exams like jee, cuet or the college's personal exam known as the cucet that also offers scholarship to the student

Faculty

4

The faculty here is actually very decent compared to other universities. They are quite good at explaining things and not to mention they are friendly with a peaceful understanding nature. Well not all of them are like this but most of them are minus the ones who are very annoying and can be a huge pain for your college lifestyle. The faculty members are understanding and even help with queries and doubts outside the class hours which is very much needed for the betterment of the student. They also seem to be eager to help in outside college ambitions such as projects and internships. The best faculties I've got till now would be the human values teachers along with thr programming instructor in the first semester. The exams are not that tough tbh, we have 3 main exams, the mid semester 1, the mid semester 2 and the final, end semester exams. The end semester exams also contains practicals.

Night Life

4

Night life is the best part of the campus. As the campus is huge so are the number of people in it, so after class when you come out you can see people everywhere! In groups, alone, duos, trios and what not. As the crowd is so fast and varried you can see people everywhere just doing their stuff, some walking, some playing sports, some making groups and singing or dancing together and much more. The most famous hangout spots are the corner cafe, the fountain, the cafe park, the main college multi food court and much much more public areas such as the multiple parks, the main cultural ground and not to forget, the sports campus specially made for only sports. Here you can play all the variety of sports u can think of! Theres basketball courts, indoor badminton courts, wrestling courts, track and field, a full size football court, volleyball court, beach ball court, along with all the indoor sports asw such as the badminton courts, table tennis courts, the shooting fields etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BCA curriculum at DAV College follows Panjab University’s syllabus, which was one of the reasons I chose this course, as it covers core computer science subjects along with practical lab work. It provides a good foundation in programming, databases, and networking, preparing students for both higher studies like MCA/MBA and entry-level IT jobs. However, the syllabus is slightly outdated and could be improved by adding more industry-relevant topics like cloud computing, AI/ML, and modern web frameworks. Exams are conducted every semester, with internal assessments and practicals in between. The difficulty level is moderate, and regular preparation makes them manageable.

Students can attend placement seminars in their last year of graduation. There are mostly placement offers for the role of sales and marketing or chat-call executives. IT companies do visit also but very rarely and they only hire only 5 to 10 candidates. There are sometimes unpaid internship opportunities available too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because i was interested in computers and didn't wanted to do arts, and i was underqualified for other streams. Every class has about 45 students, the number vary but not much. The faculty and teachers are helpful. There maybe some slacking by both sides here and there but its alright. The teaching mathod varies. If you know what youre doing the exams are not that hard to pass.

Remarks:

Every thing have a good and a bad side in it. Let's take positive first. This university offers a great infrastructure and accommodation facilities. This university can be a heaven for sports lover. There are many clubs where you can show and enhanced your skills. Going through the negative prospective some times food of mess become a threat. And the faculty as I discussed earlier needs to be updated.
