Campus Life

4

As a fresher at IIMT University, the social aspects include a welcoming atmosphere with cultural events and a diverse student body, making it easy to meet new people. Club involvement offers opportunities to join various societies for interests like sports, debate, and music, with leadership roles available later. The infrastructure includes functional classrooms, labs, and sports facilities, along with hostel amenities. Your experience will likely grow as you engage more with campus activities.

Admission

I chose IIMT University for my BA.LLB course primarily due to financial constraints, as other colleges were too expensive. Comparison: Affordability: IIMT’s fees were manageable, while other colleges had higher fees. Course and Reputation: IIMT offers a solid program, but top colleges had better reputations. Infrastructure: IIMT has decent facilities, while other colleges had superior infrastructure. Placements: IIMT offers decent placements, but top colleges had better opportunities. Admission Process: Application: Submitted online. Documents: Verified before fee payment. IIMT was the best option financially, even though other colleges were more prestigious.

Faculty

4

Faculty Well-qualified and experienced in their fields. Blend of theoretical teaching and practical applications. Limited one-on-one mentoring reported by some students. Course Structure Balanced curriculum with core subjects, electives, and practicals. Includes internships and industry exposure for professional courses. Could benefit from updates to include modern advancements and trends. Exam System Mid-Terms: Internal assessments (20–30% of total marks). End-Semester Exams: Comprehensive exams (70–80% of marks). Practical Exams: Include viva, performance, and lab records. They are two sessional exams also conducted before every semester exams

Night Life

4

Since I stay in the hostel, here's an overview of nightlife around IIMT University, Meerut: Campus Environment: The university itself tends to be quieter in the evenings, with most students focusing on studies or socializing on campus before evening hours. Around the Campus: Meerut, being a smaller city, doesn't have a bustling nightlife like bigger cities. However, there are local cafes, eateries, and tea shops where students hang out, especially during weekends. Local Spots: You might find some local markets or malls with casual hangout spots. Though it's not known for late-night activities, the evenings can still offer opportunities for socializing with friends. If you're interested in a more active nightlife, you might need to explore areas in nearby cities like Delhi, which offers more vibrant nightlife options.

Placement Experience:

Placements for law school are very very low indeed and out of total 180 students not more than 20-30 even get placed. Seminars and top brass are invited to guide students how can they take their career forward but not many direct placements happen.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well structured and is divided across 10 semesters so that the students don't get overburdened. The three year llb gets hectic. That's why i chose this course. The curriculum includes moot courts and drafting which is very helpful for further pursuits in law. The mandatory presentation in each semester builds confidence. However, I'd suggest preparing students for moot courts by focussing more on the moot court society will further sharpen the eloquence of the students. The exams are conducted twice in a semester and are moderately difficult.

Not many as placements are less and just a handful like from a batch of 180 in all, 30-40 students are placed from campus. Mostly it's the two tier law firms that comes and offer us quite less as well.

Placements are not many and to be realistic only 25% students or so get jobs from here. It is quite less indeed but that is how it is and some corporate houses who have branding issues are the ones that hire some students from here. Most students try to find joh outside only.

Students from third year have started getting Pre-Placement Offers, but many of those are majorly due to their own accomplishments. Students get ample amount of time to intern at various law firms and courts, to secure a PPO on their own. In addition to this, the Internship and Placement Committee, often comes in aid to secure PPOs for the students of the graduating batch.
