Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose this course particularly because of my ambition to be a doctor. The curriculum has both theoretical as well as practical and clinical aspects, with more emphasis on clinical aspects. Subjects like AETCOM and Community medicine teach us how to deal with patients. In our recently concluded family adoption program, we were made to interact with people living in the most rural parts, so that our healthcare system reaches to each one of them. NMC has improved the medical curriculum a lot by emphasizing more and more on clinical aspects of learning and not only theoretical learning.

Fees and Financial Aid

The overall fees is 40,800 per annum, for General and EWS candidates, which includes tuition fees, hostel fees and miscellaneous expenses. For OBC and SC/ST candidates the fees per annum is 35,800 only.

Campus Life

4

Some Fests are also held in the college, like the aarambh fest held in November 2023, iftar party, Saraswati Puja, pre diwali celebrations and freshers party. Our college library has an ample amount of relevant resources and journals available for students. Every Classroom has projectors and we are taught by powerpoint presentations. Recently GMCH Cricket League was organised in our college, with proper auction of players, which concluded in a week. In coming weeks, a badminton tournament and another cricket tournament is going to be organised in our college.

Hostel Facilities

4

In our room, we are given 2 fans, 8 plug ins and 3 bulbs are provided by the college administration itself. Almirah, beds, mattress and study table, chairs are also provided by the administration. Meal quality in the mess is okayish, just like any other hostel but food quality is well maintained.

Admission

My AIR was 16763. From AIQ, I could have got ANMMCH Gaya, GMC Bettiah and JNKTMCH Madhepura. But I opted for GMCH Purnea because of infrastructure, city life, patient flow and cadaver availability in the college. I secured admission in the college via NEET UG 2024 exam, conducted by NTA. The general category cutoff for this college was AIR 18787 in AIQ Round 3.

Faculty

4

The faculty in the college is supportive towards us. We can ask doubts and important exam topics from the faculties and they tell us about this. Our anatomy hod sir is very supportive and clears our doubts in the dissection hall and class as well. Our Physiology hod sir is strict but clears our doubts in the class itself and encourages us for self directed learning. 3 exams are being conducted by the college and 1 by the University.

Night Life

3

Gym is present just outside the college. Our college does not have its own gym, but very soon, we are gonna have one. Cafeteria is present with almost every eatables available. We are not allowed to go outside college campus after 8pm. Hostel campus is safe to roam at night. The gates of the girls hostel are closed at night to ensure safety of girls. There is proper security in the hostel campus as well.

The frequency of exams is a headache to be honest . There is 1 semester coming up within every 4 to 5 weeks which makes it stressful for us. Moreover the teaching methods are decent. This course is indeed a challenging one!

Course Curriculum Overview:

As a medical college, it always has an environment of focus and consciousness. I have chosen MBBS because I want to be a focused student in my life. I want a disciplined life, which is also a beauty of this course. MBBS develops you as a sincere - sensible and soft personality. In each department of our college, there are 3 to 4 teaching and non-teaching staff and our batch strength is of 170 students and there are totally more than 15 departments in MBBS course, so now you have an idea about the faculty Nad student ratio of our college. Faculty members are excellent in every department of our college be it the Undergraduate department or postgraduate department they are well qualified and renowned and they are great doctors too, they have wonderful art and experience of producing successful doctors. As a medical college, here 1st priority is study and assessment of students so exams are on time and obviously it has a difficult curriculum, which needs lots of hard work and dedication.
