Course Curriculum Overview

5

Unlike other institutions in the state, here the curriculum is quite specific about the branch, for IT Branch there are subjects like Intro to IT, DIGITAL LOGIC DESIGN, DISCRETE STRUCTURES, STATISTICAL TECHNIQUES, COMPUTER PROGRAMMING. These subjects are in a way or other related to our branch, they include no useless topics, The curriculum is designed carefully in accordance with the modern day requirements.

Internships Opportunities

3

Being a first year student, I don't have much information about the internship opportunity and the projects. But yes I know some people who got internships in companies like Google, and Microsoft, also one of our senior got internships in IIT BOMBAY.

Placement Experience

4

Since this is my first year I don't have any solid information regarding the placements, but according to what I've heard, the placements are kind of average or above average, AVG package lies around 5-6 LPA, no information about the highest packages

Fees and Financial Aid

For the first year fees is 163700, Including 10000 caution fees, 2500 registration fees, 10000 infrastructure fees, 32500 tution fees, 25000 development fees, 2500 library and e-resources fee, 5000 maintenance fees, 5000 learning resource fees. The fees for complete course (BTECH) IS 540000. This same for all categories.

Campus Life

4

You cannot expect an amazing campus life in this college but yes its quite good, there are alot of clubs, and every now and then some club events are going on, there is no such big tech fest or cultural fest of college, but yes some prominent clubs of the college organize some events at a decent level, such as Tulsi mahotsav, Notes and Harmony by music club, and some other events also

Admission

I applied for SGSITS, IET DAVV, UIT RGPV, Jabalpur engg college, along with MITS According to closing ranks of above mentioned colleges, I could get admitted to UIT RGPV or JEC, but on searching about them I got to know that there curriculum is still the same primitive engg curriculum, moreover the classes are also not regular, faculties are least interested in teaching students. But that's not the case with MITS

Faculty

5

The faculty members of the institution are quite experienced and knowledgeable, they have studied in renowned institutes in India, the faculty to student ratio is not known to me, but in my dept there are 156 students and 12 faculty members, the faculties are helpful and easily approachable. There are in total 3 exams in one semester, Two minor evaluations of 20 marks each per subject, one major evaluation of 30 marks per subject the remaining 30 marks out of 100 are of continuous evaluation of students in labs and some other factors

Night Life

3

There is no nightlife in campus campus closes around 8 pm hostlers are not allowed out of hostels after 8, girls are not allowed out of their hostels after 6:30 pm. You cannot enter the college as a day scholar after 8 pm to meet you friends. There are many places to hangout with friends like the gwalior fort, jai Vilas palace, baija taal, moti Mahal and more. But it is not advisable to hang out at night with female friends in the locality or the city. You can do it to some extent but it is better if avoided.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester onwards. Companies visiting campus are mostly mass recruiters along with a few product-based and mid-level companies. Most students receive an average package of approximately 5-6 LPA, while higher packages are offered to only a few top performers. Few seniors, whom I know got packages of 8.5 LPA, 12 LPA, and 19 LPA also, so basically higher packages are also offered but their competition is high and only some of them can make it up to that. A good percentage of eligible students receive the placement offers, mainlt in IT and service-based roles, but competition remains there, so one needs to have serious preparation on his or her own. Arond 60%+ students got placed every year from on-campuses placements. The placement cell provides training sessions and interview sessions from the third year onwards. Overall, placements can be considered decent compared to other private colleges in the region. Basically, after completing my graduation, I plan to pursue good placement otherwise prepare further for civil services after understanding career growth, however, this is not my final decision but could make a final one before the completion of course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The manit curriculum for mechanical is quite strong in basics and was a major reason i chose this course .It covers core maths ,mechanics ,physics ,electrical and wrskhopa ,which helps for higher studies and exams .Exams are frequent with midsems ,quizzes and endsems;sometimes the schedule feels packed, but it keeps us regular with the syllabus.Difficulty is moderate if you attend classes and practice .Still , some subjects feel outdated and there should be more software , projects and insustry oriented content.

Placement record is decent, campus drives happens regularly. If no campus placement is offered then it's obvious one has to struggle a bit more to get a decent job but I beleive the college makes the students capable enough to crack the campus placement if a person really is capable then their is no lack of resources from the college. Even if there is no in campus placement I think everyone has a plan B.
