Course Curriculum Overview

4

The future prospects of mechanical engineering is quite bright according to my opinion. The curriculum prepares for real world applications by allowing the students to learn to use CNC, 3D printing and robotics labs. The areas of improvement includes more practical lessons than theoretical classes. The frequency of exams are for every 3 months exams takes place and difficulty level is easy to medium

Internships Opportunities

3

The companies include rourkela steel plant, talcher mines, amazon, tcs etc. The projects inlcudes front end and backend projects, DSA. Mostly they ensure you have paid attention during your workshops classes and know in and out of basics of manufacturing process

Placement Experience

4

Around 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements The company visits the campus are jsw, tcs, Accenture, Delloite, Amazon, tata steel, ongc, Aditya Birla, vedanta, rourkela steel plant, etc. The highest package was from Amazon for around 44 lpa and percentage of students are placed are around 80%. My plans include after getting the degree is to sit for oncampus placements

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly course fees is 41050 thousand rupees There are many scholarships options available such as medbhruti chatra, post matric scholarships, jsw scholarship and ongc scholarship as well as tuition fee waiver for merit scholars

Campus Life

4

Vassunt is the annual cultural fest and Samavesh is the technical fest both generally held in the month of march and illumina is the sports fest held in the month of December, the books in library are mostly textbooks and the range is huge. The sports clubs include, badminton, football, cricket, hockey, volleyball, table tennics etc and extra curricular activities include NCC. The students run socisl groups are vibranz(dance club) , souls(music) , pixels(photography) , canvas(painting /drawing) avc(cinematography) , litsoc(literature society) , veer racers, IEEE etc

Hostel Facilities

4

The room are good and spaces and the wing gallery is cleaned daily the meal quality is poor and the menu includes various items. The hostel registration process takes place around 10 days later admission day.

Admission

I didn't apply to other college as vssut was my first priority. The admission process of my college is tedious for sure. I got admission through Jee mains and the cut off is around 65 percentile for general student. The admission process was tiring for sure but was worth it

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio is 1:79, the faculty student relationship is very good and they are very approachable they are available at all time The faculty i liked the most were Mr Anand kumar behera, he teaches us digital electronics, he is very much calm and compose and the way he talks and explains topic doesn't require further reading his notes are enough The faculty i didn't like is mrs diptimayee konhae, she is good at explaining but much strict regarding punctuality often she doesn't let students to enter the class if you late enough for 5 minutes The exams are fairly easy and often comes from what illustrations are explained in the class, previous year question papers and reference books as well as set of important questions. Around 10-15 students only failed. The course curriculum is outdated in many aspects but the faculty tries their best to make the course much interesting

Night Life

3

There is pool club, campus canteen, library and CCD. The hostel intimming for 1st year is 6 pm and senior years is 8 pm. The kirba chowk is the go to hangout destination for vssut students and the locality is not so safe to roam around at night since the campus is an open campus

Course Curriculum Overview:

* I had chosen to do mechanical engineering because I had some bond with machines and it's designing and was also aware with the scopes of mechanical engineering. * In real world the curriculum helped me a lot and still it is helpful, currently I'm preparing for position of junior engineer and there it is quite helpful for me. * I don't think any improvement is required in the course curriculum and teaching methods as everything was good at its place and it's also the responsibility of us (students) to know our curriculum thoroughly and give our best. * Exams were conducted at an interval of 6 months and as said earlier exams conducted were moderate level not too difficult or easy and with studies it can be cleared easily

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Curriculum is like ok for an govt engineering college not like an iit/nit. There are many departments where equipments are very old & haven't changed for a long time. Exams are conducted very fast like mid sem is conducted in 1/1.5 months and end sem is in 2 months

Campus placement i thik it's in your 4 year of engineering only i.e in your 6 semester. There is a lot of companies visited like jsw ,hindulgo and a lot to go . Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
