Good college for GATE and CAT aspiramts

The college is a good place for GATE AND CAT aspirants. Although the teaching methods adopted by faculty are not up to mark , but this is a college that can be considered by any student who could not bag a central govt college.

Course curriculum is not so good and is somewhat relevant to GATE. The exam is purely subjective and is of typical AKTU type. Lengthy answers are to be written to get more marks. Marks for each semester are awarded from 1000.

Placements had not been too impressive in the college earlier, but they are improving at an appreciable pace. Mainly IT firms like TCS, etc., visit our college which hire students having programming background. So, mainly CS and IT students get placed with an average package of 3.50 LPA to 5 LPA with around 60% to 70% of the students getting placed. Other companies like Hero Motocorp, Tata Chemicals, Prism Johnson Limited, i3 consulting, Newgen, Global Logic, New Gen Apps, etc., also visit our college. TCS offers two different salary scales, students getting placed under the digital profile get a package of 7.20 LPA while those under ninja profile get 3.36 LPA. Internships are not provided by the college it is an individual's responsibility.

A lot of cultural fests like Encore and Pravah are organized. Technical fest Parakram is also organised in which many teams across the UP take part. There are clubs like Josh (dramatics), Insaniax (dance), Swaranjali (music), Auroras (western music), Excelsior (literary club), Nakshatra (astronomy), Rhetorica (compering team), etc. There are also sports teams for cricket, basketball, taekwondo, volleyball, athletics, etc. The college has been awarded the best engineering college in North India by the MHRD in 2017.

The fee structure was feasible 4 yrs back but year by year it is increasing. Now it has reached to 1.3 or 1.4 lakhs per annum which is somewhat costly. For branches like ei and it 15000 rs. Extra is charged every year as these branches are not government aided like others.

Scholarships are provided by UP government for students who fall under the category of financially deprived families, though the fee is not too much but only around 1.5 LPA. But for getting this scholarship student has to do a lot of formalities.

Extra curricular activities are not much supported by the college but still students of our college lead in all the fields from singing to dramatics, from dance to sports. Everywhere students participate and bag prizes. Labs are old and a new international stadium is being built in the campus that will have all the needed sports facilities.

The college campus has a very good view from inside; students can refresh their mind even if they just take a tour of the campus. But the hostel rooms are too small to accommodate two persons at a time. A new girls hostel is now ready which is no less than an expensive hotel.

Seniors are helpful and the alumni network is supportive. There is a facebook page on which students can connect to their alumni and also every year a meet is organised , called convergence. In that students get a chance to interact with them face to face.

Upsee is conducted every year and our college is the first state govt. College of UP. Students bagging the top ranks get entry in this college every year. The exam level is lower than that of mains but 150 ques are to be attempted in 3 hrs.

Faculty is qualified, yet not so knowledgeable. Also, the students themselves are not so interested in attending classes so the faculties reciprocate the same with us, as per final year. But still guest faculty is supportive.
