Course Curriculum Overview

4

I was weak with computer , thats the reason I opted for ECE, it gave me all the basics for computer architecture and electronics. I believe the curriculum should improve in the field of practical knowledge, it rather focuses more on theortical subjects. The timing of exams are good considering you get to practice every unit of the syllabus with an exam.

Internships Opportunities

5

Various companies come for internships , including goverment agencies, recently I4C cybercrime agency made a placement drive for internship for 6 months with 10000 stipend. There are 6 total projects you must do for passing the respective semester. The outcome of the project is either research paper or hackathon participation.

Placement Experience

4

The college offers great placement assistance, there is a seperate batch which helps to train for placements, they conduct mock gds and PIs along with aptitude and softskills class every saturday. These definetely helps students crack job interviews. A lot of companies like LG, microsoft, tcs, Hcl, Hal etc visit our campus starting from 7th semester. My plan is to get a job in a related field and apply mh knowledge so far. The highest package from my department was 12 lpa in LG interprise and the average is 4 lpa

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for this College is pretty simple . For my course (Bachelor of Engineeriing) , the regular semester wise fee is 80000 which equals to 160000 per year. But the College provides schorlarships through an entrance exam cucet. The examination fee is 2500 per semester which is exlcusive of scholarship . There is also a sports quota for students hailing from sports background.

Campus Life

4

There are techfests every week, Hackathons almost everyday. The campus has 8 libraries equipped with almost every book you need academically. All the classes are equipped with projectors for better view of the whats teaching and interactive learning. The college offers a variety of sports to take part from.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel room come with either ac or non ac and either 1,2,3,4 seater . It comes with a bed and an almirah with shared washrooms. The mess timings are 7:30 to 9 for breakfast , 1 to 2 for lunch and 7:30 to 9 pm for supper. The meal sare freshly made and pretty good.

Admission

I was about to opt for petroleum engineering which was in my college , but it got discontinued, so I later opted for ECE. Chandigarh university was the only college I applied for, and got into it by giving the entrance exam

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is around 1:50. The head of department sir is really hellpful and assists in every way possible. Overall most of the faculty are helping and friendly towards students. The exam structure is pretty simple. There are 3 exams per semester. mst 1 , mst2 and final end sem exam . Msts consists of 20 marks and the finals are 60. The exams are pretty easy. with little effort you can pass them all.

Interview Experience

4

Various current affair topics , there were no gds for admission just the entrance test, The other process of admission is through jee mains or sports quota, otherwise its merit based for international students

Night Life

4

Every hostel has a separate gym , there are various canteens to choose from , The hostel timings are 7 to 9 pm for attendance, my favroutie hangout places are maggie point and nescafe at night to enjoy snacks with friends

Placement Experience:

As a BE Computer Science student at Chandigarh University, placements are decent but depend a lot on individual skills. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester, and most of the placement process happens in the 7th and 8th semesters. Many companies visit the campus every year like Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, Capgemini, TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some startups as well. There are a good number of offers made, especially from mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys and Cognizant. The highest package claimed by the university goes very high, even above 40 LPA, but those are for a very small number of students. Realistically, the average package for CSE students is around 5 to 7 LPA. Mass recruiters usually offer packages between 3 to 5 LPA. Around 70 to 80 percent of students get placed if they are consistent with coding and preparation. Those who depend only on college studies may find it harder due to high competition. The university also provides training for aptitude, coding tests and interviews which helps in preparation. After completing my degree, my plan is to get placed in a good product based company. At the same time, I am also focusing on improving my coding skills and working on projects so that I can aim for better opportunities or even higher studies if needed.

I exactly don't know but after 4 th or 5 th students are eligible for internship and placements. Generally in 7th semester 90 percent students grab their internship. Many companies visit on campus placement like Capgemini, Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Microsoft and many more. Highest package offered is 64 LPA by Microsoft and lowest was 4 LPA. Almost 90 percent students get placed by 8th semister. I also want to go to a MAANG company after getting my degree.

1) I want to go in construction industry so i chose this field. 2) Currently our college curriculum is updated so its relevant i will say around 70 to 80% . 3) For improvement Faculties should be brought from all over india as professors here are only concentrated from ludhiana itself. and labs are very old it should be upgraded. 5) In a semester there are 2 monthly exams and one end semester exam. 6) As far as difficuly level of exam is concerned it is not much difficult if someone solved PYQ thoroughly.
