Course Curriculum Overview

5

Every semester has 6 theory subjects and 4 lab curriculum. In first year three 3 credit subjects and three 2 credit subjects. The lab sessional has 1.5 grade pay. Each semester has 22 credits and results are provided in Cgpa. The lab sessional are really very helpful and need to be attained carefully. Each year has 2 semesters. But for VSSUT you need to clear each semester by 4 months with holidays and others days.

Internships Opportunities

4

I didn't had enough knowledge of intership opportunities but for I know I only know that the masters degree students get internship opportunities for their requirements. Need to approach the respective professors for their approval.

Placement Experience

4

Placement in the college are decent good. But within the recent years there is high fluctuations in the placement. Many many new companies arrives every year and picks deleberately a strong percentage of placement. The highest package is 47 Lpa and average is 5Lpa . Percentage of students getting placed are 60 to 70% .

Fees and Financial Aid

For the first year the we need to pay entirely for the year that is 89000 rupees and from second year onwards you need to pay semester wise where the hostel fees are 17000 per semester and tution fees are 21000 rupees per semester till the last semester for my academic year 2023-27 the entire 21000 rupees includes all the accommodation fees also. There is a category of tution fees waiver scheme by the government where the tuition fees are weived and reduced to 12000 rupees per semester . Only 6 to 7% students get available this TFW schemes. We can avail many government based scholarship like e medhabruti for all the categories, post metric scholarship for SC ST AND EBC ( Economically backward class) , and Kalia scholarship for for people whose family enrolled under Kalia scheme. Other private scholarships are also included. Like JSW UDAAN scholarship for students belonging to designated locations like Sambalpur, jharsuguda, Jagatsinghpur and more one or two places. Btech students gets 20000 rupees under e medhabruti scholarship and same for post metric scholarship for EBC category students. The SC ST students get more than 50k as a scholarship once in every year. Same goes for the Kalia scholarship holders. The JSW UDAAN scholarship pays nearly 35k to the beneficiaries. All the scholarship are annual. None of the above scholarship are merit based all are category based and no limit for the number of applicants.

Campus Life

5

Every year three fests takes place that are sports fest ( ILLUMINA) The technical fest (SAMAVESH) And the cultural fest ( VSSAUNT) The sports fest takes place during December - January and the technical and cultural fest takes place later on. Very large library is present within the campus accessible for card holders. You can also borrow books free for 14 days. Sports clubs , technical clubs , cultural clubs are also present for students co curricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

4

In the first year students live in the pulaha hall of residence in which each room has 3 students alloted to them in a random order. And from next year onwards on other hostels each room has 4 students. For first year hostel development fees are taken as 14k and a overall 48k for first year hostel fees. And next year onwards 34k as hostel fees . Online fees payment on college website.

Admission

I had two options for btech for studying in a government autonomous college. That are OUTR AND VSSUT out of which I opted various branches from both the collges but don't know fortunately or unfortunately I landed at Burla. I had other college options but didn't applied because they are not autonomous and second criteria is the location. I didn't also applied for higher merit based college because I didn't had a good rank. You can enter to the college by ojee web based counselling by appearing jee and ojee exams.

Faculty

5

The faculty students ratio are quiet good it's varies between 50-70 students per faculty. Students faculty relationship are quiet good and all the faculties i had met within my 3 semesters are quiet good. Some of them are best and some lies average. Most liked faculties among I met within my three semesters is dr deeptimayee konhar from electronics and telecommunication engineering department who thought us Basic electronics. Because of her strong principles and regulations. The worst faculties i don't want to mention. Exams are moderated level. U need to have a decent preparation for passing every subject in the semester. 8 semester within the btech will place you in 8 different and new problems. With passing each semester you can learn to better by every semester.nearly 15-20% fails qualify 2 3 subjects. And some subject has fail percentage of 40% also.

Night Life

5

The college has CCD ( not the original one) one student cooperative store and a canteen. More than 10 hostels are present around the college area . 6 to 7 boys hostel. And rest girls hostel. More than 80% Students are boarders and rest are day scholars.paid gyms , cafes , restaurants are also present.most hangout places are dykes , dam place , zero point .

Course Curriculum Overview:

* I had chosen to do mechanical engineering because I had some bond with machines and it's designing and was also aware with the scopes of mechanical engineering. * In real world the curriculum helped me a lot and still it is helpful, currently I'm preparing for position of junior engineer and there it is quite helpful for me. * I don't think any improvement is required in the course curriculum and teaching methods as everything was good at its place and it's also the responsibility of us (students) to know our curriculum thoroughly and give our best. * Exams were conducted at an interval of 6 months and as said earlier exams conducted were moderate level not too difficult or easy and with studies it can be cleared easily

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Campus placement i thik it's in your 4 year of engineering only i.e in your 6 semester. There is a lot of companies visited like jsw ,hindulgo and a lot to go . Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
