- Only two lifts so sometimes it gets crowded with other college
- Not enough space in the canteen considering we have a law college and other course students can also come.
- No placements since Indian Classical Music is a filed where you don’t get any placement.
Course Curriculum Overview
We have a separate subject for stage performance which helps in understanding how to perform and what to perform on stage. Then we have a Technical performance which helps us develop our skills. Then we have a music theory so we can understand what are the things we're singing is called or history of music, instruments, etc. It prepares us really well. If we had fewer ragas per sem or more time to give each raga. 1 final exam with Interal Exams throughout the semester.'
Fees and Financial Aid
Rs Two lakhs per annum. Rs One lakhs is tuition fees. Registration fees was around Rs one thousand. Other the other charges are included in the other Rs one lakhs. All the students in my course/ batch are paying the same fees. Every student get Rs one lakhs worth of scholarship from our college only.
Campus Life
We don't have clubs pr sports but we have monthly naad and Baithak every 15 days where the students get to perform and gain stage experience. We can participate in college fests easily. We have access to library and material and high tech technologies devices.
Hostel Facilities
There was no mess in my hostel so I used to order tiffin services. They provided us with appliance for basic needs. Though the space was less and as a music student it was difficult to adjust but everything was fine. We had proper cleaning system. Affordability is pretty average but cheaper than other things.
Admission
We have the Mandatory 2 hours of practice session in our college. We have strict rules about practising like the Bhramamuhrat Riyaz where all the students have to send 1 min video of there Riyaz in the early morning. And if failed to do so they'll marked absent. I applied to MIT Pune but they were not strict about the Riyaz system so I didn't joined there.
Faculty
15:1. There is a faculty for every 15 students in our course. Our faculty are highly qualified and helpful. We can easily discuss our problems with them. Mr Aditya Apte. He's a knowledgeable man who's down to earth and have a helpful nature. He makes sure all the students are learning properly. There is no faculty that I don't like. Each and every one of them are really likeable. We have 1 final exam every semester depending with the number of subjects. And we have 3-4 Interal exams throughout the Semester. Around 1-2 student fail to clear the exam each year. Course curriculum is made in a way that student can learn properly and gain knowledge.
Interview Experience
Yes we had group discussions in subjects like EVS and English. We discussed about environmental challenges in EVS and how music is changing and evolving, use of technologies in music,etc. No there was no written exam since music is a practical subject.
Night Life
My hostel was not close to the college campus so there wasn't much to but the overall experience was good. Good security, polite staff. Everything was good and clean. Easy access to things and stuff which made the life earier.
