Course Curriculum Overview
I can not really say much in terms of course relevance since im in my first semester 1st year but subjects are instresting physics is great but i dont understand how helpful english is other than for the communication skills .Teaching method is very old school with achalk and green board we do use a projector which also does not work is most classes, need to update their teaching resources
Internships Opportunities
Paid and unpaid internships start from 3rd year 1st sem but students prefer the non paid ones over paid for reasons best known to them students are well trained on their soft skills from 1st year accenture Adobe and unisys are few companies which come for interns
Placement Experience
Placements are very good with an incresing median pacakage every year. This year before 1st semester ends itslef our highest is 48lakhs . Many students get internships from 3rd year 1st semester itself . Infosys, delloite ,amazon ,flipkart, cardekho , paytm are a few of many companies that visit every year
Fees and Financial Aid
I am a first Electronic and Communication student joined college in august of 2024. When i first joined G.Narayanamma Institute of Technology and sciences (GNITS), I had mixed feelings about what lay ahead, Coming from DPS nacharma where the campus was sprawling the facilities were top notch, and the overall vibe quite modern,GNITS initially felt quite underwhelming .With a modest camous size of less than 13 acres and it is an all girls college Getting into gnits was not a straight forward procees .Transporation fee is 27,500Rs regardless of distances. Biggest pro of gnits is its location its in the heart of city within 10kms I joined through managemet quota(NRI sponsor) which meant paying 7 lakhs coz i wanted ECE its different prizes for different courses later we only pay normal yearly fees like everyone else 100000 Tuition fee, 3000 NBA accredited fee,3200 exam fees,1500 JNTU common srvices , 1000 special services,2000 admission fee,800 records,3500 value added course,1000 for college caution deposit. i am an OC without EWS wich means i cant apply for any fee reimbursment . College bus transf radius from jubliee hills and gachibowli. Faculty is honestly great most are very sweet and enthusiastic about teaching but ofcourse there will be a few bad ones, crowd is mainly from Narayana Sri Chaitanya colleges pretty backward thinking and all but you are open to it its not hard finding your people . The atmosphere is quite liberal while mainiting some rules we do have a dress code which most faculty doesnt mind about, GNITS is very sports and culturally active there is some or the others sports and cultural competions happening every week . One thing though is that the chairman does have some caste and religion feelings you wont see 1 faculty who is muslim he is apparently well connected to RSS also. Overall 7/10 college in my view being in gnits since 5 months
Campus Life
There are about 28 clubs which are mainly student led with a single teacher incharge who just overlooks tho perfomance and activities of the club photography ,arts ,music ,dance ,math , coding are few clubs there are many ngo and social work oriented clubs too library has loads of books from academics to fiction. We recently had a student led fest last month
Admission
Admission process is not that hard you either get ranka nd apply or if you wanna pay money you need to know someone from the management someone at higher level mostly My dad knew the chairman later you go for a 2 round iinterview where they ask you very basic personality questions .During this process of shortlisting students in the management quota CBSE students are given first preference
Faculty
Faculty overall great im not sure on non teaching faculty and all but we have 1hour classes around 60 to 65 will be strength in each section so 1:60 would be ratio in that sense , I do think i lucked out on teachers this semester because what i heard from my friends from other sections their teachers are brutal . Exams are moderately easy i would say 5 hours of proper preparation can also easily fetch you pass marks each sem we have 2 mid papers and 2 practicals and 1 semester end exams .Whole week continous exams without break for mid sems . I really like Somasundar Sir he teaches physics very patient and understanding eager to share his knowledge Ms.Shanti from chemistry is great too.
Interview Experience
yes we did Entrance exam ranks are the only category of admission but since i got in through Managment quota we had 2 rounds on interviews just basic personality based to see how good are your communication skills . CBSE students are preferred over state cyllabus for 11&12 they also checked our scores in board exams 10 & 12
Night Life
I am a dayscholar but since location of college is at a very happening area nightlife is crazy but hostlers do have very strict rukes and are not allowed out soo what use. cafeteria has yummy very cheap food suprisinly is quite hygenically made too all VEG , no gym but have indoor badminton court which is quite exclusive
