SICSR Life

The course curriculum seems pretty relevant, except Yoga but I don't think I can complain about that as it's cuz of NEP. And also Yoga is a scoring subject so no issues, it helps us improve our cgpa. I had chosen this course mainly for all the computer related subjects like Web Tech, Computational Thinking, Python etc..

I still havent come across the internship part in the college as i am still in FY. But, I think there is a time allotted for the SY students to do internships (online/physical) in order to get a certain number of credits.

I'm not quite sure about the campus placements, but all I know is that the average package is of around 7.5 l.p.a. The highest package last year was of 19 l.p.a. As the college states, 100% of the students get placed.

As an NRI, I pay the highest fees (approx. 4.6 lacs) followed by the general category Indians (almost 75k to 1 lac lesser than NRI). And then the foreign nationals pay the least amount (approx. 1300 USD i.e. around 110k inr). They also provide scholarships which is mainly just for the foreign nationals.

The campus of SICSR is just a building which is not the best, but it's location is what keeps us happy. The facilities provided in classrooms are just projectors and a few classrooms are equipped with computers and AC. The college has a wide range of clubs and sports activities in which the students can register whenever they receive the links. The festivals are mainly organized in the Lavale campus.

I live in Cosmos hostel which is in the SB road symbi campus. The facilities are decent and the food is also fine. The mess menu changes every week. The Mess serves food everyday except dinners on Sundays, so, Sundays are meant for us to explore Pune????

I had applied in LPU and Christ University, Bangalore but I chose Symbi bcuz it was always my first choice and reputation wise also Sumbi has the best reputation compared to the rest. Plus, Symbi ranks in the top 3 BCA universities in India. Even Christ comes in the top 3 but i feel it's just cuz of their high intake, whereas, SICSR only has an intake of 180 students for BCA.

The College faculty is pretty decent, wish i could say the same about the visiting faculty... Especially Rajesh Math (innovation management teacher), he would not teach anything properly in class and would never answer our doubts properly. The exams are based on the number of credits. If there are 3 credits then you will have to clear 3 internal assignments and then appear for the External examinations.

The nightlife is pretty okay there. The gym is located in the SB road campus which is 2 kms away from SICSR. Famous hangout spots near SICSR are coffee stop and maharaja vada. There's a pool Cafe near the college where I go with my friends to play pool/snooker.
