BCA at SRM KTR. Pros/cons

The bca course curriculum is definitely better here in south india. The advance syllabus of mathematics and advance java. It really helps making us industry ready. It prepares us well for real world applications. exams are conducted 4 times in a semester and the difficulty is quite balanced from easy to moderate.

I have already did one internship in google, banglore i got a stipend of 35k for the role of android developer and there are many opportuinites for various companies. And various course students are eligible. Its quite good. Not ever one gets stipend but the ones who do get. They get decent. Ranges from 15-40k.

Placements are good. For bca it ranges from 4.5-6lpa. but it can go higher depending upon skills. From 5th sem students becom eligible for placements. The highest package i remember was 12lpa for software developer by mahindra tech. Around 85% students were placed last year. Although placements here are decent but im aiming for something higher. I'm thinking to pursue mca from NIT TRICHY. For better opportunities ofcourse.

My fees is 85,000 per year. And 5000 extra counselling charges for first year only. Bca data science student have 90,000 fees charge. There are numerous scholarships also available like 50% off for sc, st. And ews students are free. Also there is merit relaxations like 60% for general and 50 % for sc, st.

On a scale of 1-10 my campus life was a 8. It was great and fun. I had fun in socializing. I made a lot of good friends which helped me through my worse times even when i got dengue and i was hospitalized they were with me. And there are many fests also. National level fest milan is held in march every year. Many celebs come their and a grand fest is organised with a budget over 10cr. In the library you can easily find about any of your course related books. There is projector in every classroom and also a few camera's for security and discipline purposes. There are many sports available in srm like swimming, volleyball, hockey, cricket, etc. there are many clubs to socialize like music club, dance club, literature club, etc.

I live in 3 sharing room non ac. And it is quite enough for a student. The mess food is great. And we have enough common washrooms so we don't have to make lines only on rare ocassions. Mess menu is designed well for both north indian and south indian cuisine. Hostel should be booked on srm student portal website. Hostel booking only opens for a certain period of time. And its quite affordable. I live in pf (perrie fauchard) hostel.

I applied for vit but i couldn't make it. But my second choice was always srm. There was no other college on second place. Reason was because i wanted to study from south india because of the advanced curriculum here. And the nirf rank of srm also naac grade A++ is definitely a great choice

Faculties are excellent supporters as i mentioned earlier. And there are some excellent teachers that i met. Like hod of the hindi department. Dr. Mohammed Swahidul islam. And Hod of the department of computer applications dr. Jayashree. Although there are great professors. There is one professor with whom im not quite fond. Dr. Nagarajan. Reason is that his marking schemes are very unfair. I deserved better. But i got less. Course curiculum is top notch. There are 4 exam per semester two Ct tests. Easy ones. And 1 modal and 1 final semester theory exam with medium difficulty. Almost all students pass but there are always a few exceptions.

There are a lot of free gyms for hostellers. Day scholars can also enter nobody says anything but there is no clear written statement that they are allowed or not. each hostel has their own gym including mine. There is a stadium where we can hangout and chill. We can see people playing sports. And we can relax as well. Hostel timings are from 5 am to 9pm for boys and 6am to 7pm for girls. And this is stricter for girls for obvious reasons. Over all night life is great if you have the hostel permission slip. There are many caffee outside the campus. There is a place called potheri where we can roam, have fun, eat pizza and chill. Over all its quite safe.
