Great support from professors to pursue anything one likes.
The infrastructure is great with facilities for everything.

Dislikes

The girls to boys ratio is approximately 1:3, which is very low.
One might feel they are lagging behind because they compare themselves to others.

Course Curriculum Overview

Materials Science is a blooming field in every industry. And the curriculum at IIT Bombay makes it so that we learn all the relevant stuff. The curriculum is well designed so that we can use the concepts we learned when faced with real life problems. There is an exam every 2 months. And they are somewhat on the easier side.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 121500 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The main tuition fees is ?1,00,000. The extra charges total to ?21,250. This makes my total fees per semester to be ?1,21,250. The tuition fees for SC/ST students is ?0. So they just have to pay the extra charges i.e. ?21250

Campus Life

The 2 major fests are TechFest and Mood Indigo which are typically held in the month of December. There are books on almost every concept or topic. The classes are well maintained with AC, 3 smart boards, 2 projectors, 2-3 green boards and speakers. There are inter-hostel sports GC inside campus. There are a wide variety of clubs run by students which include cultural, technical and sports club.

Admission

The college takes admission through JoSAA, which takes into account the JEE Advanced rank of students applying for admission. The cutoff for my course ranges from AIR 2400-4500. I had NIT Trichy as a preference in my JoSAA college list, but it was at a lower preference than IIT Bombay, which is why I recieved admission in this college.

Faculty

The faculty to student relationship is great. The faculties are always available in their respective office if we have any doubts or concerns. My favourite faculty by far is Prof. Naresh Patwari. He is very strict about punctuality but is very chill when any doubts are asked. There are two exams per sem, 1 mid-sem and one end-sem. The exams are moderate and most of the students make through it. The curriculum is as relevant as it gets

Night Life

Gyms are open till 8pm. The library is open till 11pm. But the other places are available to use 24×7. There are some restrictions on girls entering boys hostel at night, but those apply on after 10pm. Students are allowed to go in and out of campus 24×7 whenever they want, without any written consent required. The city outside (Powai) is active 24×7 and the locality is safe. Some popular hangout places are Boat house, Aromas, CCD, DESE building etc.

Placement Experience:

Almost 75% students are getting job through college. Students who are in last semester of their degree course are able to site in placement of college. Many companies from india and also companies from outside the india are also come to college placement. Total 364 companies were come to placement session of 2024 and that made job offers, 1475 offers were accepted by the students. Also my plan is to get best job through college placement session.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Yes the curriculum is 50-50 where it is relevant as some point and it slightly turns irrelevant at some point but which is fine Some subjects like DSA and FDS are important and the fundamentals of computer stream But the m3 subject is just not needs according to me which makes it tough to understand so many subjects at some point We have 5 subjects per semester The curriculum helps to improve us in many ways where they teach us the relevant languages and makes us industry ready The improvement should be in the AI sector as it is the ongoing trend which might help everyone to improve their self The frequency of exams is ok if considered As the insem is around a month after the semester starts and the endsem is around 2 or 2.5 months after the insem That depends

The college has good placement offers and internships which helps students to get placed in good companies but sometimes they get less placement, the placement fro civil department has more numbers than any other department as the college owner is a builder , the college has higher placement jobs in it sector and technical sector too , the other non technical sector for placement are sales and marketing jobs which also offered in this college by the traning and placement team , the college has a department of training and placement.

After the third year endsem the placements process starts u should get the all the 160 credits to get the degree and eligible for the placements the college have a nice placement rate in total it has 82% placement overall for cse it is 88% and for instrumentation it is 100% average package overall for E side is staring form 10LPA and for cse it is 17LPA last yr for M side it is around 7LPA to 13LPA

I choose this college because it is a India's best college among the all colleges with biggest alumni relations and best education system. My collage has very big campus in comparison to other colleges and it also has many advance technological labs , sports play ground, lot of clubs and many tech teams which is take part in compitition accross the world. If you want to take addmission in iit Bombay as b.tech student, you should first clear JEE advanced exam. those students who passed in 12th grade and clear a cut off percentile in jee mains are able to give jee advanced exam and after clearing jee advanced exam according to your rank you should able to chose colleges....Read More

you migh have heard the perks of being an "IITian" so did I , a kid fasinated by pictures of college , coaching tecahers casually saying that iit is best ..And after spending like 2 yr here i feel yes it is different , a differnt life different culture my personality between these kids chnaged completely in one yr , I can't compare this college to any other but yes if you ask me why not IITB or IITM or any other iit than yes , moodi techfest they are pur events are they are asia's largest college fest ,not only that se i fell studies and exploring that could have been done in other IIT's too , but i didn't get the cs dept in that colleges too so I thought to pick best college irrespective of branch ....Read More
