Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is I would say ok. It is not so big, but not small also. Some topics can be easily removed from them, especially first year. In Civil branch subjects are building planing, strength of material, fluid mechanics, Autocad, drawing, surveying, transportation, structures, Maths, human Value, disaster management, etc. Most of them are theory subjects. Practical application are dealt in practical part of the subjects, which is not so great, cause labs are not properly working. Teaching methods are only college exam oriented. Like how to get good marks in semester exams, no preparation for any government exams. Although your 8th semester will be just project, no classes, you can prepare on your own. Homework includes writing the long lab manuals, loong assignments. If you have fast handwriting, then you can save a lot of time. There are three exams 1. Mid term exam (one exam each day, no gap in between) 2. Semester exam (one exam each day, 2-4 days gap between them) 3. Practical exam (one each day, no gap in between). There is atleast 1.5 month gap between mids and sems exam and practical happens just after semester exam.

Internships Opportunities

2

I will be mostly talking about civil branch internship here. You have to do internship anywhere at the last of your 2nd and 3rd year. Because you have to prepare a file for it and go through viva. You can get paid internship if you are in top 10 rank in your class. Otherwise just do any internship by your own contacts, college will not help in it. You can approach professors for discussion, but it all depend on you.

Placement Experience

2

Placement are branch dependant. Mining average package is around 15 lakhs per annum. Top branches for placements here are Mining, Agriculture and Electrical. Placements in Civil, Mechanical are very less which is around 4-5 lakhs. Placement drive is at the end of 7th and 8th semester. Highest placement are around 25 lakhs. Not all students get the placement. Most popular placements companies are Vedanta, Secure meter, Wipro, etc. My plan and for low placement branches is to prepare for GATE exam and other govt exam, because you get a lot of free time if you can do your work fast.

Fees and Financial Aid

For 1st year students, tution fees is 49000 and college development fees is 31950, which means total is 80950 per year. There is 300 rupees charge for registration. For 2nd, 3rd 4th year students, tution fees 49000 and college development fees is 23500, and total is 72000. First Half of the fees is taken at starting of first semester and second half at second semester. After this fees, 1300 rupees are charged for every semester exam. You can take syllabus books for whole semester from library on 10% rate of MRP, which is around 350 for all books. SC/ST gets these books at 25 rupees (60 for 2 semesters). Hostel fees is 25000 (+5000 security money) for one year, and mess is 2600 per month. If you can not appear in mid term exam, then 500 rupees per subject penalty for re-exam. Short attendance is 250. Other than these expenses, there are no hidden charges, unless you damage anything. There are TFWS seats, which you can get by reap counselling, but you need a good rank for that. The fees for TFWS seats is 25000 for whole year, they do not need to pay tution fees. GAS seats fees is also around 45000 per year. GAS seats are only available in agriculture and mining branch. Most of the scholarship are available in this college. If you are eligible for them, you can take advantage of them. You have to complete all scholarship condition & steps by yourself, college staff will give you required documents only. Some of the scholarship are like ST/SC scholarship, pragati girl scholarship, etc. This was full breakdown of fees and any charges by the college.

Campus Life

4

Campus Life is good. Library, Canteen, Stationary, Ground, Indoor ground, Hostels, Separate department for each branch, Administrative block, First year Block, all are available. They are not so good, but enough for a government college. Library is pretty good, It has so many book, mostly related to syllabus by famous authors also. There is no annual festival in my time, but technical festivals like hackathon, robo fury, etc are there and easily approachable. 2nd year seniors give freshers party to their juniors. There are blood donation camps, swachh Bharat abhiyan, NSS Activities, NCC & Scout camps, etc. Students ofcourse runs social groups depending on caste, but they are not big threat to any non group person.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel (1st year) :- I got PhD hostel by luck which was way better than any other hostel, spacious room, good almirah, good toilet/bathroom to student ratio, etc. other hostels are just opposite of this. In one room you get 1/2 ceiling fan, 2 bed, 2 almirah, 2 table-chair. Mess is the worst part of hostel, if you opt hostel you have to take mess with it also. Worst quality food, too oily, water mixed, No hygiene, food wastage, etc. Menu is for breakfast, very less item with water milk, item include, aloo paratha, normal paratha, pudi aloo, bread pakoda, poha. Lunch and dinner is 1 sabji, 1 dal, chapati and rice. Vegetables are aloo, aloo matar, cabbage, bengan, ladyfinger, chole, chane, sev tamatar, etc. All of them are very bad. Registration is very simple, just go to hostel office and payment fees through challan or online. Room outside of campus (2nd year) We are 2 people in one room, normal size, attached let-bath, balcony, no beds, one table. Rent is 5k for both of us, electricity bill is based on consumption. These types of rooms are not easy to find, most are occupied. Food is around 50-70 per plate. You can't ask for good food in udaipur (around campus area) but it is better than mess food.

Admission

Admission to this college is by jee mains exam score. REAP Counselling is done for it including many other colleges. Although you can get direct admission in this college after reap counselling if seats are vacant. You can change branch after admission (internal sliding) or just after 1st year, if seats are available in future. So I got this college by reap counselling. I filled RTU kota and MBM Jodhpur also, but got this one. It is number 4-6 in all government colleges in rajasthan. Cutoff is not that high, you can get CSE at 85-90 percentile and Civil at 50 percentile also. For SC/ST, it is very less. Admission process is simple, fill Reap form and wait for counselling, then just go to college and payment the fees. Carry all required documents by college like aadhar, 10th, 12th marksheet, caste, domicile, bank account etc.

Faculty

3

Most of the faculties are guest faculty in the college. Most of the students do not like their teaching style but they do their part of work properly. They are present everyday in the college, if you have any doubts, you can easily go meet with them and solve your queries on any topic. Most of the professors are good in nature, except few, who are very rude and always in their hard mood. Teacher ratio is also good, you get different teacher on every subject in one year. There are lab assistants also. There are three exams in one semester 1. Mid term exam 20 marks each 2. Main semester exam 50/80 marks each 3. Practical exam 30/80 each. Teacher will properly tell you about the exams pattern, so no big problem. Difficulty of exam is variable and mostly average. All you have to do is to go through 3-4 years pyq question. Learning is not bigger part here, main part is to pass, cause we got mass back in many subjects. Atleast 320 out of 400 students got failed in exams last year due to harsh checking or some unknown reason (900 rupees for re-exam of one back) For me, curriculum seems ok, but so many topics can be easily removed from their.

Night Life

5

Closing time for hostel is around 9 pm for 1st year and 11 pm for other hostels, excluding PhD hostel. Try to avoid roaming in campus at night because you can encounter a real panther in campus, you will see warning in some places. I was in PhD hostel, gates are open for full night, so ofcourse we have gone for nightouts in group. Gym is not active in college, there are gardens in the campus. But Good Gyms, library are available just outside the campus. Food is not great in udaipur, there are only few good places to eat in udaipur for middle family student. Some of the famous places - Jodhpur chai wala, honey dal baati, Motabhai restaurent, Dil Punjabi, Daya Nashta centre, Bohra ganesh mandir, etc Locations for tour are numerous.

Other Applied Colleges
